Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn Spears took to her social media to share that her new memoir 'Things I Should Have Said ', is around the corner. The actress and singer Jamie Lynn Spears shared that she has "finally finished writing"  her book and is ready for the world to read it. The memoir is set to be released on January 18th, 2022 via Worthy Publishing.

Jamie started writing Things I Should Have Said after her daughter Maddie Brianna Aldridge’s life-changing accident in 2017 where she nearly drowned after falling off an ATV when she was 8-years-old. The memoir is said to be an intimate look into Spears' struggles as a child actress, teen mother, and public figure, along with Maddie’s accident.

The actress announced on Instagram with a caption, "I owe it to myself, my younger self, and to my daughters to be an example that you should never edit yourself or your truth to please anyone else. I know I still have a lot of learning to do, but I feel like finishing this book gave me closure on this '30 year long chapter of my life, and hopefully helps anyone else out there who has forgotten their worth, lost their voice, or is trying to break an unhealthy cycle in their life. "

Worthy Publishing, which will be publishing Jamie Spears’ memoir, describes the book as a “You’ve read the headlines, but you don’t know Jamie Lynn Spears. The world first met Jamie Lynn as a child star, when it was her job to perform, both on set and for the press. She spent years escaping into different characters—on ‘All That’, ‘Zoey 101’, and even in the role of Britney’s kid sister. But as she grew up, faced a teen pregnancy, raised her daughter on her own, pursued a career, and learned to stand on her own two feet, the real Jamie Lynn started to take center stage– a raw, blemished, and imperfect woman, standing in her power.”  The description continued, “Despite growing up in one of America's most tabloid-famous families, Jamie Lynn has never told her story in her own words. In Things I Should Have Said, she talks frankly about the highs and lows, sharing what it was like traveling the world as a kid, how she moved into acting and performing herself, what life as a child star took from her, and the life-changing reality of becoming a teen mom.”

"Frank, courageous and inspiring, ‘Things I Should Have Said’, is a portrait of a wife, momma, sister, daughter, actress, and musician doing the best she could to show up for herself and teach her daughters to have the courage to love every part of themselves, too”, the website lastly added. A portion of the book’s proceeds will go to a non-profit organization; This is My Brave, which aims to uplift the voices and stories of individuals amid mental illness and addiction struggles.

Sources claim that the original title of Jamie Lynn Spears’ memoir was ‘I muss Confess’, which seemed like a dig at her sister since it’s a line from Britney Spears’ famous song, ‘Baby One More Time’. After receiving backlash from the fans, the former ‘Zoey 101’ star changed the title and renamed it as ‘Things I Should Have Said’.

"Last but certainly not least, I want you all to know, YOU matter, YOUR story matters, YOU are enough, and don’t ever let this world try to convince you otherwise", Jamie added to her post. The actress shared a picture on World Mental Health Day a day before she announced her memoir and called the occasion a reminder for everyone to prioritize their mental health and have healthy conversations about it to help remove the stigma that surrounds mental health.

"I hope you all did something good for yourself today, and hope you all know how important and special you are. Take that nap, go for a run, eat that chocolate, binge-watch that show. You deserve it", Jamie wrote. Lynne Spears congratulated her daughter on Instagram in a post re-shared by the actress, stating, "I know how hard Jamie Lynn has worked on this past four years, and I am proud she is finally able to share it, especially the details of our Maddie’s Miracle."

The relationship between Britney and Jamie has not been the best sister relationship, especially when Britney said that she wanted to sue her family over her conservatorship, which let her father (her conservator) control her personal affairs, medical decisions, and estate since 2008. Britney also called out Jamie Lynn Spears for performing remixes of her songs at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards.

Jamie Lynn Spears’ memoir is up for pre-order, and she has not mentioned if she will include her sister Britney Spears in her memoir or not. The final verdict of Britney Spears’ conservatorship will come next month.
