The 42-year-old American actor Jason Momoa, who is set to reprise the role of Arthur Curry, also known as Aquaman in Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, has revealed that the film will have a lot more comedy in it than its predecessor Aquaman released in 2018.

The superstar Jason Momoa while appearing at an interview with Fandango, said the upcoming superhero epic will feature more comedy and action scenes than the previous film.

He said, "This Aquaman, this time around, I feel like we're pulling out all of the stops, buddy,"

"Like, it's... we all learned something on the first one. It's exciting because I haven't made too many sequels." Momoa added that "even on the page, it's absolutely wonderful." "There is so much going on. I think the stakes are a lot higher," he said. "There's a lot of comedy. So, I mean, I giggled reading it."

"I think just in the last three or four years, just technology's constantly... it's just moving at such a rapid pace that what we're doing with underwater... I mean, that's what made the first one so amazing," the actor said. "So, it's just gone on to a whole other level, so I'm excited for everyone. Because it's just a lot more heart. There's a lot more at risk."

Prior to the actor's comments on the film, director James Wan was also seen sharing his thoughts on how different this superhero film is from his 2019 blockbuster.

Wan said, "There are more complexities in Aquaman 2 than in the first movie...This is just stuff that I learned along the way, and it's what I find intriguing as a filmmaker, and I try to take everything that I've learned from each film, and carry them with me to my next movie."

Previously, James Wan also made similar comments while appearing in another interview where he explained how he wanted the film to play out for the audience.

He said, "They look at trailers, and they can kind of look at posters, and they can kind of put things together, right?" He said, "So the key is how do I stay ahead of audiences today that are so savvy, but at the same time still come up with things that people haven't quite seen before."

He went on to explain how he has approached the matter of staying on top of audience expectations, stating, "That's when I start to pull this away, and I start to take you on this electrifying journey, and it's that aspect that makes it fun for me. And it's not just my horror films. I tried to do that even in Fast and Furious 7, and to some degree in Aquaman, but definitely more so in Aquaman 2. There are more complexities in Aquaman 2 than in the first movie." Though Wan did not reveal the details about the DCEU film, but he did say, "This is just stuff that I learned along the way, and it's what I find intriguing as a filmmaker, and I try to take everything that I've learned from each film and carry them with me to my next movie."

Recently, the movie added three more cast members Jani Zhao, Indya Moore, and Vincent Regan to its already full of superstars cast list. The Chinese-Portuguese actress Zhao, who will make her English debut with the film, will play the leading role of a mysteriously unknown character known as Stingray in the comic books.

Queen & Slim actor Indya Moore will portray the role of Karshon, a deadly supervillain who faces off with Green Lantern several times in comic books.

The 56-year-old actor Vincent Regan will be seen playing the role of The ancient ruler of Atlantis. The famous character of Atlan was also played by Graham McTavish in the first Aquaman movie.
