Jason Momoa Reveals That He Got Injured During The Filming Of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom leading star Jason Momoa has confirmed that while filming the superhero epic he, unfortunately, got injured. Momoa revealed that his list of injuries includes a hernia, pushed ribs, and an eye injury that will require the actor to even undergo surgery in order to repair!

"I'm getting old. I messed up my eyes. I just got something in it that kinda cut it up, and then I've gotta get surgery, I have a hernia, I've got ribs out. I'm just getting beat up," Momoa said to Ellen. "It's gonna be a great movie, you're gonna love it."

While the film is currently in production, Momoa assured his fans and followers that the injuries are not too serious and that he will recover completely in some time. "Yeah, yeah, look at me. I can see great. I'm good to go!"

"I just kind of give it, yeah. I love my job and I get a little too excited, then the age thing, you know, I'm an aging superhero right now," he added.

While Momoa will be seen in the role of Arthur Curry also known as Aquaman, he previously portrayed the superhero in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice released in 2016, Justice League film released in 2017, and Aquaman released in 2018.

Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom has been in some kind of development since 2019, with the same actors that appeared in the first film and some additional like Jason Momoa in the role of Arthur Curry / Aquaman, Amber Heard in the role of Mera, Patrick Wilson in the role of Orm Marius / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren in the role of King Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the role of David Kane / Black Manta, Temuera Morrison in the role of Thomas Curry, Randall Park in the role of Doctor Stephen Shin, Jani Zhao in the role of Stingray, Indya Moore in the role of Karshon, Vincent Regan in the role of Atlan, Regan in the role of Graham McTavish and Pilou Asbæk.

With James Wan serving as the director of the film and the story written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, the film is a follow-up to the Aquaman film released in 2018 and is the 13th installment in the DCEU, the fantasy film will have a major impact on the future the superhero universe.

The Detective Comics Films in association with The Safran Company and Atomic Monster Productions takes the responsibility of producing the film with the distribution under the banner of media Warner Bros. Pictures. The film story will be mainly centered around the fan-favorite superhero character of Arthur Curry also known as Aquaman and his journey to know more about the great city of Atlantis which was once a part of the glorious Atlantean Empire and later on, as the great Empire fell with time, the city got lost, leaving behind some of the Empire's parts underwater. DC's Aquaman and The Lost Kindom is currently set to debut in the theaters on December 16, 2022
