Jennifer says that she and David Schwimmer are just 'Friends!'

The American sitcom 'F.R.I.E.N.D.S.' star Jennifer Aniston was quick to douse the flame that fans speculated Aniston and Schwimmer are. The rumors had started circulating soon after the airing of the 2000s hit show's reunion, which fans had been waiting for for over a decade.

In a recent interview, Jennifer burst the bubble of many fans who shipped the two as a couple and disclaimed the dating rumors. Addressing the rumors going around: she said, "That was bizarre. I could not believe that, actually."

She went as far as calling Schwimmer her brother: "Like really? That's my brother."

However, she was also aware that the fans would love the 90s T.V.'s most iconic couple to be real things. "But I understand it, though. It just shows how hopeful people are for fantasies, for dreams to come true", she said.

But things were not always this way. In fact, David Schwimmer himself revealed that he and Jennifer Aniston had a few moments where they experienced a crush on each other.

"The first season, we-- I had a major crush on Jen," Schwimmer revealed during the Friends reunion. "It was reciprocated," Aniston added.

The reveal came in the show's reunion itself when the host asked David Schwimmer, playing Ross Geller and Jennifer Aniston, playing Rachel Green, if the on-screen couple ever had a heated moment in real life.

And David replied, "At some point, we were crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship, and we never crossed that boundary. We respected that."

Jennifer herself,  was with Brad Pitt along the show's timelines, who eventually came to be her husband. They stayed married for five years before going their separate ways.

Jennifer also had to say, "Honestly, I remember saying to David, 'It's going to be such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kissed is going to be on national television.' Sure enough, the first time we kissed was in that coffee shop."

David married Zoe Buckman later, with whom he shares a daughter. They divorced in 2017.

So, the actors agreed that all the emotions they had for each other created the amazing chemistry for their on-screen portrayal of lovers. And seemingly, the fan-favorite couple remains to be only a figment of imagination.

The blockbuster hit Friends reunion has been nominated for four Emmys along with Hamilton, which Jennifer agrees to be a great moment of pride.

"It's very exciting, and it was, kind of, not even expected," said Jennifer. "We're in the same category as Hamilton, so that's the closest I'll get to a Broadway show. But yes, that was a nice surprise," she also revealed.

While one of our favorite couples has so clearly denied dating rumors, it's time to find another ship!
