One of the most popular American stars Jennifer Lawrence, who stars in Netflix’s distributed latest satirical science fiction black comedy Don't Look Up alongside other cast members of what seems to be already full of superstars cast list like Leonardo DiCaprio in the role of Dr. Randall Mindy, Rob Morgan in the role of Dr. Clayton "Teddy" Oglethorpe, Jonah Hill in the role of Jason Orlean, Mark Rylance, Tyler Perry, Timothée Chalamet in the role of Yule Ron Perlman, Ariana Grande, Scott Mescudi, Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep in the role of President Janie Orlean, Himesh Patel, Matthew Perry, Chris Evans, Tomer Sisley, Melanie Lynskey, Gina Gershon, Michael Chiklis, and Paul Guilfoyle, reveals what made her take a two-year break from acting, even though everything for her was going fine and her career was at its peak as she appeared in close to 19 films between the period of 2011 to 2019.

“I was not pumping out the quality that I should have. I just think everybody had gotten sick of me. I’d gotten sick of me. It had just gotten to a point where I couldn’t do anything right. If I walked a red carpet, it was, ‘Why didn’t she run?’… I think that I was people-pleasing for the majority of my life. Working made me feel like nobody could be mad at me: ‘Okay, I said yes, we’re doing it. Nobody’s mad.’ And then I felt like I reached a point where people were not pleased just by my existence. So that kind of shook me out of thinking that work or your career can bring any kind of peace to your soul,” Lawrence revealed as a part of a cover story with Vanity Fair, explaining to the audience being “sick of her” is what led her to take a two-year break in her acting career between 2019 to almost the end of 2021 because in the time between 2011 to 2019, she was less about “pumping out the quality” rather than centering on quantity aspect of films and television shows.

While Lawrence features as a low-level astronomer in the newly released Don't Look Up, the film director previously shared why the actress was cast in what is turning out to be a blockbuster at the box office. “No one has more beautiful anger than Jen. When she unleashes, it is a sight to behold. Think of her in Silver Linings Playbook, her in everything. I wanted to cut loose with a strong, funny truth-teller woman and that’s Jen Lawrence. I mean, that character poured out of me. I would just picture Jen and you knew exactly what she would say…. She’s going to be the one who doesn’t play the game. And, of course, she’s going to be pilloried for it, which will be heartbreaking, but she’s never going to play the game,” Adam McKay said that one of the main reasons behind the casting of Lawrence in Don’t Look Up was mainly because of her past angry performances, which are exceptionally brilliant.
