Marvel Studios Jeremy Renner, who played a major and important role in taking where the franchise is now and was one of the members of the original Avengers squad, that featured Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man, Chris Evans’ Captain America, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, and Chris Hemsworth’s Thor also known as the God of Thunder, reveals that at one point of time he was about to decline his role of the Marvel sharpshooter because of hilarious reasons that he didn’t want to wear superhero costumes till he is around the age of 50.

Debuting as Clint Barton in the superhero-based franchise, Marvel Cinematic Universe, the 50-year-old Renner stepped in the boots of the superhero through, ‘Thor’ with follow-up appearances in the first Avengers film released in 2012, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: The Civil War, Avengers Infinity War, Avengers Endgame, and Black Widow, the actor is currently starring in the Disney+ latest show Hawkeye as a leading star alongside Hailee Steinfeld, which centers around Clint’s and Kate Bishop’s mentor-pupil relationship in her journey of facing and overcoming different challenges to become the next Hawkeye. While being a standalone show and specifically focusing on Steinfeld’s Bishop, at the same time it also fits into the puzzle of the larger MCU world, which is the beauty and one of the main selling points of the studio that while keeping its shows and films separate, knowns how to connect each other in an amazing way.

"I remember going in to talk with [Marvel Studios president] Kevin Feige and [Marvel Studios co-president] Lou D'Esposito, and they'd show me the Ultimates version of Hawkeye. Iron Man had come out, and I said, 'I'm into what you guys are doing because I loved Iron Man. I like how you made Iron Man plausible. So that's where they wanted to go with [Hawkeye]. I'm like, 'Great!' You gotta kinda sign on for a bunch of Avengers films and potential Hawkeye films, kind of sign your life away. I'm like, 'Wait, I might be 50 in tights,'" Renner said to Vanity Fair, during a recent appearance in an interview where he was discussing about his Disney+ superhero series, explaining how it all started for him in the popular franchise and the fact that when he came to know that he will have to sign a multi-picture deal with the studio, he initially wanted to back out.

He added, recalling the story behind how when he was in early talks with the studio about his role in the franchise and he thought of rejecting it because he didn’t want anyone to him wearing tights at 50. "That was my main concern. I'm like, 'I don't know if I want to do this. I don't know if anyone wants to see me in tights at 50.'"

While Marvel Studios decision to cast Jeremy Renner’s in the role of Clint Barton also known as Hawkeye has been one heck of a successful choice in the MCU, which can be analyzed by the fact that the fans and followers love and has soo much appreciation for the actor, and wants more of him in future, but one thing cannot be ignored that it seems that the actor just like other superstars who have made their exit from the franchise such as Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans and Johanson, if not the end phase of his career definitely almost at the end as the Marvel superhero, however with Marvel Studios on his side it is impossible to come to conclusion as to what the studio is planning next for the actor in future. Renner previously did speak on his future in the franchise after Hawkeye. "I don’t have a crystal ball, or I’m not a soothsayer,” said Renner. “But having Hailee come in, and these characters, I think it opens it up for six great episodes for this event type of television. After that, I have no idea. But these six episodes are pretty exciting.”

With Jeremy Renner’s inclusion as the sharpshooter in Marvel Studios Hawkeye, the series also includes Hailee Steinfeld in the role of Bishop, Tony Dalton in the role of Jack Duquesne, Zahn McClarnon in the role of William Lopez, Brian d'Arcy James, Alaqua Cox in the role of Maya Lopez also known as Echo, Florence Pugh in the role of Yelena Belova also know as Black Widow.
