Jesse McCartney and Katie Peterson are married!

Popstar and actor Jesse McCartney and actress Katie Peterson tied the knot on October 23rd, 2021 in a romantic rustic-chic ceremony at the Santa Lucia Preserve in Carmel, California in the presence of family and friends.

The actor-singer, who rose to fame at the age of 17 for his iconic song "Beautiful Soul", wore a black Brioni tux with mother-of-pearl cuff links and a cream-colored shirt, while the bride donned a white off-shoulder Galia Lahav couture dress with floral appliques. Jesse’s uncle performed the ceremony and the couple exchanged their own written vows. According to the reports, McCartney's brother served as his best man, while the couple's dog, a terrier named Bailey, was the flower girl at the couple’s wedding. Katie walked down the aisle to a string quartet's rendition of Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight,", and the park walked down the aisle to a string rendition of the Jurassic Park theme music.

For their first dance, the couple danced onto Taylor Swift’s ‘Lover’, which some attendees recorded and shared on their social media. The guests included country singer Hunter Hayes, whom McCartney befriended while competing on The Masked Singer in 2020, as well as his Young and Hungry co-star Jonathan Sadowski, and his Greek co-stars Paul James and Jacob Zachar. The reception featured a salad course followed by a choice of pan-seared Alaskan halibut or slows roasted prime fillet, Mignon.

Jesse shared, "We’ve hardly seen each other in the last couple of months. And we said come the first week of October, we’re just going to really focus on the wedding and each other and take the month to only work on the wedding. Because it has been really crazy for both of us." The couple spoke to PEOPLE before the wedding and Jesse shared, "I think that moment of settling in at the altar and just watching her come down is going to be pretty special and having our families there and witnessing all of it. You’re in the middle of the redwoods and these trees are, like, 800 years old, and they’re massive. It’s a very special place. It's hard not to be romantic about that portion of the night. I cry watching a Subaru commercial. That kind of sums it up for you. So I don’t know how I’m going to get through this… I get dewy, as they say."

The singer’s fifth album, "New Stage,", released on October 8th, 2021 and according to the singer, it feels like a fresh start for him, and the songs on the album more accurately represent where he is today professionally and personally. He shared, "Lyrically, obviously I think it’s a bit more mature. It represents where I’m at in my relationship with Katie, and then also what it’s been like for me growing up in the industry. As you get older, I just feel like you know more things, and you’re able to write about stuff that you can sink your teeth into a little more. And so, lyrically, I think there’s just a little more to chew on".

The singer-actor took a little sabbatical from music over the last few years so that he could work on the Freeform TV series, "Young and Hungry," and a little later realized how nice it was to spend time with Katie Peterson instead of touring. The singer further shared, "I was in a healthy relationship, traveling, and I really enjoyed being able to travel and actually see the places I was going to. Katie and I did a lot of international travel and just took time to relax. I feel like I’m very fortunate that I can do that. I feel like your thirties are such a great part of your life."

Sharing more about the album, Jesse McCartney mentioned that the transformation from an engaged person to a married man was something he believed was worth noting and writing about. He added that the songs on the album might be relatable, especially to some of the fans that have grown up with him and are now married or have kids. "But then I think there’s an underlying current of overall gratitude for where I’m at. It’s been a really great career that I’ve had, and it's been fruitful, and I’ve been able to get on the other side of my early years, my twenties, and all the younger years when you can certainly make stupid decisions," added the singer. Jesse described the album as, "It follows a hopeless romantic who finally finds himself in the relationship of his dreams."

The couple started dating in March 2012, when Jesse went to a bar to celebrate a friend’s birthday and Katie was working at the bar at the time. Jesse, on meeting Katie’s eyes, realized that he had found the one, so he left a napkin with his name and number on it, and the couple went on a proper date at a steakhouse in Beverly Hill. The singer popped the big question seven years later at Cut by Wolfgang Puck at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on 13th September 2019. The singer recently postponed his fall tour to next spring due to the pandemic.

Congratulations to the newly married couple!
