After rumors and speculations surrounding the appearance of Adam Warlock were being circulated by fans after the release of Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 2 that he will be appearing in the sequel of the film despite being denied several times by film director James Gunn himself, the news finally broke last month that the superhero character Adam Warlock will indeed be a part of the cast of the upcoming superhero epic Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 3 with the 28-year-old Will Poulter playing the role.

The legendary comic book writer Jim Starlin, who is responsible for creating several Marvel characters which includes Adam Warlock, recently spoke to ComicBook.com that he wants to see Poulter’s live-action version of Adam Warlock as a “cosmic Batman.”

"I imagine him dark. He's like the cosmic Batman," Starlin said. "I would keep his dialogue down to a minimum, make him Clint Eastwood in space, or something like that. The Silver Surfer was done over at Fox, whole different sensibility. I mean, look at Galactus, what they did with Galactus. That's one character I'm hoping to see get remade again to more what he was supposed to be. It's good to depend on the story. It always depends on the story, how you present him, what he's going to be doing, where he's going.”

He added, discussing Warlock and how the filmmakers will go about him in the movie when he arrives in Marvel Cinematic Universe.“It's all going to come down to what the story is that they want to tell, and he will be adapted toward that. It sounds like they're going to start off with him probably as a villainous type of character, an antagonist, let's say, inside the Guardians movie. But we'll see where they go from there. They're putting Pip up, bringing Eros in, who knows what they're going to do. They might bring back the Infinity gems and start the Infinity Watch."

Will Poulter was cast in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, according to the reports by Deadline, after a search by director James Gunn and Marvel Studios was led which finally ended with Poulter screen tests eventually winning them over at the end of August. Starlin’s character Adam Warlock was also referenced in the post-credit scene of the film series second part Guardian of The Galaxy Volume 2.

Marvel Studios Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 features Zoe Saldana in the role of Gamora, Pom Klementieff in the role of Mantis, Will Poulter in the role of Adam Warlock, Chris Pratt in the role of Star-Lord, Vin Diesel in the role of Groot, Bradley Cooper in the role of Rocket, Karen Gillan in the role of Nebula, Elizabeth Debicki in the role of Ayesha and Sean Gunn in the role of Kraglin Obfonteri.
