Nothing could be scarier than confronting your ex, not even Halloween. But for Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato, the two experiences came together on the same day but without any of the usual hard feelings associated with exes. The two were together in a short relationship back when they were just young kids working for the Disney channel. Now, years after them first being together and being with different partners over the years, the two were quite happy to meet each other during a Halloween party this past week.

The lead man of the Jonas brothers' boy band, aged 32, met his boo from the younger years, aged 29, and stopped by for a selfie that he later shared on his Instagram Story on October 31.

The 'Heart Attack' singer posed for a selfie with the Jonas couple, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner. The Game of Thrones actress, who starred as Sansa Stark in the series, dressed up as Isabella Parigi, a character played by Hillary Duff in the movie The Lizzie McGuire Movie. The 'Sucker' singer dressed in matching attire with his real-wife and paired up as Paolo Valisari, played by Yani Gellman, completing the on-screen couple. Demi Lovato was dressed up as a chic biker perhaps, as seen from their full head-to-toe black leather attire.

The Instagram story shared by Joe Jonas featured an inconsequential purple heart along with a tag mention of Demi's Instagram handle. Demi Lovato then shared the story post to their own Instagram Story, too.

Back in 2010, the former couple dated for about four months before, eventually, breaking up the same year. They had previously starred together in Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam for Disney Channel. The two split up with mutual respect for each other and without any apparent bad blood for the other.

Back in May 2010, when Joe Jonas split with Demi Lovato he told Us Weekly that the two continue to be friends and knew even in the beginning that their relationship could be difficult. "Demi and I knew going into our romantic relationship that it may not be an easy one. I realize over the time we have shared together that I feel I care more about our friendship right now."

Sharing more intimate details about their breakup, Joe Jonas also shared that it was he who called quits to the relationship. "It was my choice to break up, but I love her as a friend. She’s been there for me when I needed her. I will continue to be her friend and be there for her."

While the couple didn't share when and how they broke up, a rumor had picked up back in 2010 suggesting that Joe had done the deed over the phone. Demi Lovato took it up themselves to share the breakup wasn't on phone and the two continue to be confidants.

"What Other People Say" singer shared on Twitter, "There are so many crazy rumors flying around today. Joe and I did split, but it wasn’t over the phone. Things didn’t work out but we’ll remain friends."

The news was certainly bad for Joe Jonas, and Demi Lovato fans from the Disney channel, and what made it worse was that Demi had really liked being with Joe. Before the inevitable breakup, Demi had said that their fling with Jonas was their "first serious relationship."

But as the relationship had started picking up more attention from the public eye, the 'Confident' singer had relayed how having a relationship so open to the public came with its own stress. In May 2010, Lovato told Us, "Every time that I’ve started to date someone, I’ve had private relationships, and there’s just so much stress trying to hide it and keep it quiet, that if you just come out and say, ‘OK, we’re together,’ you don’t have to worry about keeping it such a secret."

They also shared, "It was not only scary coming out to the public eye, but also the people who we work with, the people who are going to be on tour with us all summer, who are obviously nervous – because you never know what can happen. But, I think, ultimately, everyone who knows us knows that we’ll always be best friends, no matter what happens."

The two went on to date multiple people after their fling in 2010 before Demi Lovato eventually revealed their LGBTQIA+ status. Joe Jonas dated Camilla Belle, Taylor Swift, and Gigi Hadid before he eventually settled down with Sophie Turner, from the Game of Thrones. The two got married in a secret ceremony in May 2019, which was live-streamed by Diplo, and a year later in July, Sophie gave birth to the couple's daughter, Willa.

Demi Lovato has dated Trace Cyrus, Wilmer Valderrama, Luke Rockhold, Mike Johnson, and Austin Wilson. She was also briefly engaged to Max Ehrich, aged 30, after dating him briefly. The engagement lasted only for about two months when the couple finally split up. Lovato later revealed that the breakup helped her further to come to terms with her LGBTQIA+ identity.

This year in March, Lovato shared with Glamour, "When I started getting older, I started realizing how queer I really am. This past year I was engaged to a man, and when it didn’t work, I was like, This is a huge sign. I thought I was going to spend my life with someone. Now that I wasn’t going to, I felt this sense of relief that I could live my truth."
