Katie Thurston and John Hersey have decided to split.
The former couple, who were introduced to the world after John Hersey appeared on Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette, confirmed that they are not together anymore. Katie Thurston took to her social media to share that they weren’t together anymore.
In addition to disclosing their decision to break up, John Hersey also expressed his love for being able to share special moments with the fans, particularly funny, joyful, outrageous, embarrassing, and heartfelt ones. He also said he was unsure of when it would become simpler to share the sad ones as well. The former contestant of Bachelor Nation said that, as Katie Thurston had already revealed, they are no longer together. The Bachelor Nation alum added that they did not make this decision lightly and that it was difficult for them to make.
John further mentioned Katie Thurston and thanked Bachelor Nation for all the love and support and said that they would not have been here without her. Katie Thurston, who was introduced to the world when she appeared on Matt James’ season of The Bachelor, was later chosen to be the lead of The Bachelorette season 17 and was engaged to Blake Moynes by the end of her season. Katie and Blake shared a joint statement that read that it’s with mutual love and respect that they have decided to go their separate ways and are very grateful for the moments they shared together and the entire journey that unfolded this year for them.
Katie and Blake announced their split in October, stating that they realized over time that they are not compatible as life partners and that it is the most caring choice for both of them to move forward in life separately. Soon after their breakup, Katie was linked to John, and in November she revealed that she was intact dating him. A source shared in November that Katie Thurston and John Hersey had been friends for months and even though he left the show in the second week, the duo were able to reconnect and stated at the time that a lot had changed for them in the last four weeks.
In March, the Bachelorette alum said that she was the happiest she had been in a long time and added during the red carpet event at the People‘s Choice Awards that it’s very easy to just enjoy and live her life and that is something they are doing. John Hersey also shared in January that falling for Katie Thurston was the best decision and he couldn’t be happier. He added that he could never have dreamt up what this year had in store for him and he is in both awe and extremely grateful for the circumstances that brought them together.
The former couple who walked red carpets went on vacation and attended Coachella together are now looking at the future from different perspectives and are now going to focus on themselves and move on. After the breakup, a user said that Katie was the reason why she couldn't find a man. John Hersey supported ex-Katie and responded to the user, urging them to speak more politely, especially about someone they don't know. John continued by saying that he has never had a partner's level of unwavering support and love, so thinking and insinuating that Katie is doing something improper doesn't sit well with him.
Katie Thurston and John Hersey are not the only Bachelor Nation couple who have decided to end their romance lately, but Michelle Young and Nayte Olukoya also announced their split on social media and stated that the decision was very hard for them to take because what they had was real and they are both very heartbroken and devastated with the situation and will be healing from it in private and asked for privacy. Both of their statements of breakup were pretty emotional and they mentioned that they will continue to support and appreciate each other but now just from a distance.
