Chrissy Teigen, The Cravings cookbook author, and music legend John Legend are expecting, and Chrissy took to her social media account on Wednesday to share the news with her fans and followers.
Chrissy Teigen wrote under the post that while the past few years have been, to put it mildly, a fog for her emotionally, joy has returned to their house and hearts. She also added that after a billion shots in the leg, the pair has another one on the way. Chrissy Teigen posted a few images of herself showing off a baby bump in Gucci briefs and explained that she kept telling herself at each appointment that if the baby is healthy today, she would announce it. However, when she finally heard the heartbeat, she realized that she was too anxious to make the announcement.
Chrissy Teigen mentioned that it's been really difficult to keep the news to herself for so long, she said, adding that she thinks she will never leave a checkup with more excitement than anxieties. However, so far, everything is wonderful and lovely, and she is feeling positive and great. John Legend shared Chrissy's post and included hearts on his social media.
The couple is parents to 6-year-old daughter Luna and 4-year-old son Miles, and the couple also suffered a tragic loss of pregnancy in September 2020. The pregnancy loss came after Chrissy Teigen and John Legend announced that they were expecting.
Chrissy Teigen revealed on social media at the time that they were shocked and in the kind of deep pain that one can only hear about; the kind of deep pain they had never felt before, and that despite bags and bags of blood transfusions, they were never able to stop the bleeding and give their baby the fluids he required. The author mentioned that they never decided on their baby’s name until the last possible moment after they were born, but for some reason, they started calling the little guy Jack, so she added that he will always be Jack to them. Chrissy Teigen, who conceived their children with the help of IVF treatment, conceived Jack naturally.
The author of Cravings sent a heartfelt letter to the child she miscarried a year after the incident. She said that Jack inflicted the most agonizing agony imaginable on her to prove to her that she could endure any hardship, even if she didn't want to. Chrissy wrote that he came and left to get her to love herself and take care of herself because bodies are valuable and life is a marvel, even though she did not have the time to take care of him. Chrissy also mentioned that she feels bad that their grief is so public but it's because her joy of having Jack was so public and now she finds the stories and everything she shared about Jack so hard to look at because she misses him terribly.
Chrissy Teigen urged women to share their stories and asked everyone to be kind to one another because she added that it's so hard to understand what the other person is going through. She concluded the letter by thanking everyone who allowed her to grieve and provide her space to share her story and mentioned that she knows that Jack will be loved dearly and her kids will know about him when they are a little elder and can understand what had happened.
Chrissy Teigen discussed having more children in December 2020. She admitted that while it frustrates her that she cannot conceive, she is proud of the other physical and mental journeys she undertook and mentioned how fortunate she is to have wonderful infants who are growing into amazing little people daily.
Chrissy had revealed that she was having IVF in an Instagram post before becoming pregnant. She urged others to refrain from remarking on whether she seemed pregnant or not while she was trying. She remarked that although she understands it's done with happy, good intentions, it really kind of stinks to hear people ask her if she is pregnant. She is, after all, the very opposite of pregnant. If she was, she said, she would be the first to let everyone know. Chrissy recently marked a year of sobriety.
