Johnny Depp and Amber Heard will be back in court on May 16th for their ongoing defamation trial at Fairfax County Court, Virginia. The lawsuit was filed after Johnny Depp sued ex-wife Amber Heard for an op-ed that the actress wrote in 2018 for The Washington Post describing herself as a survivor of domestic abuse and violence.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor claims in his lawsuit that after the op-ed was published, it went on to tarnish his career opportunities along with the name that he built in the industry with his hard work and passion, along with his love for cinema and music. Even though his name was not mentioned in the op-ed, it was clear that Amber Heard meant Johnny Depp because she obtained a temporary restraining order against him in 2016 after accusing him of domestic violence.

The restraining order was dropped in 2017 during the time the former couple settled their divorce. Johnny Depp, in his testimony, mentioned that he had never struck Amber Heard or any woman in his life, and if someone was abused in the relationship, it was him. Johnny Depp stated that it was he who had survived the domestic abuse and violence at the hands of Amber Heard and now wants the truth to be out. Amber Heard is on stand currently and when the trail resumes, she would continue with her testimony and then cross examining from Johnny Depp's lawyers.

Since the court is on holiday this week, people on the internet have dug out some text exchanges between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s mother, Paige Heard, and father, David Heard, which shows that Amber Heard and her lawyers are at fault for the accusations and Johnny Depp did not actually do anything. The text messages date back to 2016, just after the time when the actress obtained the temporary restraining order against Johnny Depp

Paige Heard writes in the text to Johnny Depp that it is the lawyers on both sides doing all of this, not Amber Heard. She went on to say that she had heard the entire story and wished to speak with him and that Amber Heard did not want this to happen, but it was the lawyers on BOTH SIDES who were to blame. The actress's mother said that this was not her idea or request, but that Amber was threatened with being evicted and out in 30 days if she did not press charges. Amber Heard's bumbling lawyer may have seen this as the only way she could get a place to live, Paige noted in her text, adding that her daughter did not want it.

Why would Amber Heard go to the courthouse with a picture of herself that reveals she was assaulted if she didn't want to get a restraining order against him and send a message to the world that he is some type of vicious wife-beater? Johnny Depp asked to his then mother-in-law and added to the text that it is his life too. He went ahead to ask Paige Heard questions about what his children and children’s friends would think about him that he is a violent man who beats women. The actor added that he did not deserve this, and they (his kids) did not deserve this, especially from her.

Paige responded by stating that Amber Heard’s lawyer had told her to do it and that is why the actress wanted to speak to him. Paige asked Johnny Depp to never bring this conversation up, but she swore that it was not Amber Heard’s idea and she was not delighted about going through this. Paige added that her daughter was told that this was her ONLY option and shared that she was not making excuses, but that is what she believed. She ended the text by asking Johnny Depp to never bring this conversation up again and saying she loves him. Paige called the actor her son.

The viral text message exchange between Johnny Depp and Paige Heard shows that Johnny Depp did not physically hurt when Amber Heard obtained the TRO against him but it's eventually upto jury to decide. Johnny Depp's ex Jennifer Grey had expressed that it's painful to watch both of them go through this and she wishes that they would just resolve it. She praised Johnny Depp was saving her after the tragic car accident with her then boyfriend and supporting her the best way he could.

Johnny Depp's ex Vanessa Paradis, also mother of his children had shared in a statement in 2020 May that she has known Johnny for 25 years and they have raised their two kids together, and in all those years of her knowing him, Johnny Depp as a person and father, he is nothing but kind, attentive, generous, and nonviolent. She went on to say that on set, the actors, directors, and entire crews admire him since he is humble and courteous to everyone, as well as one of the world's best actors.

Vanessa went on to acknowledge Amber Heard's accusation, calling it "outrageous" and "very distressing" for Johnny Depp and his family. She said that this is nothing like the true Johnny that she has known, and from her personal experience of many years, Vanessa said that he was never violent or abusive to her. She concluded that this is so upsetting that people have just believed these allegations even after knowing that Johnny Depp has helped so many people in his personal and professional life with kindness and generosity.
