Kathy Hilton is the mother of Paris Hilton, an American socialite, entrepreneur, and Hilton heiress. She recently said that there was a time in her life when she was so worried about her daughter that she called the media to check on her.

Kathy Hilton, who lives in Paris with her husband Rick Hilton, revealed during a SiriusXM Lunch with Bruce podcast interview that she was once afraid for her daughter's life. She explained. “There was a moment. I was actually worried about Paris for a good while. And she was sneaking out, and she’d go missing, and I wouldn’t be able to find her.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star stated that the couple couldn't sleep the entire night because they were worried about their daughter, who was partying in clubs in Los Angeles and New York. She said, “And let’s put it this way. It got very out of control, and I was scared for her. And my husband was very scared for her. And you know, those nightclubs go on all night.”

She further added, “I used to call the city desk really at the New York Post. Really. I would call the city desk and say at one in the morning, ‘Excuse me, hi, it’s Kathy Hilton. Uh, do you, by any chance know, Paris where she is right now, right?’ Usually, they’d be able to track exactly. She was seen at 11.47 or 12.43 at O Bar or this spot. I mean, this is the way I lived.”

During the interview, Kathy stated that she had no clue her daughters would become so popular that they would be scared. "She went from being a tomboy, we moved to New York and I didn't realize what would happen. And all of a sudden, I think with two girls, attractive with a very famous last name, people just started to, [journalists like] Graydon Carter, [would write] 12 pages [on them]." She did not forget to mention that since everything happened behind her back, she was very angry.

In the early 2000s, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, and Lindsey Lohan were branded "party girls" for their frequent clubbing. During a 2018 interview, Paris revealed that she was the first person to ever be paid to throw a party, and that it was a very lucrative business that she had turned into a worldwide empire.  “So, I think when a lot of people would see me at these parties and events they didn’t really realize I was actually there working,” she reasoned.

When Paris Hilton's documentary "This is Paris" was put on YouTube, many people were able to observe the trauma she had experienced as a youngster and how it influenced her life. Everything culminated in the creation of a public persona for Paris that is vastly different from who she is.

At the Provo Canyon School in Utah, where she was enrolled for 11 months at the age of 17, Paris stated she was verbally and mentally assaulted. Paris claims her parents decided to send her to the infamous boarding school after she did a series of pranks while residing at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City, including "sneaking out and going to clubs and parties."

Kathy stated that she believed Paris' boarding school was a top-notch facility that would provide her daughter with "the best" psychological and psychiatric therapy. “We felt that putting her in a structured environment would keep her safe while also giving her the space she needed to work things out,” she explained.

Although the Hilton heiress never criticized her parents for sending her to the boarding school, she did say that they mistook it for a regular boarding school and that many parents have no idea what goes on at these institutions, terrible abuse does occur.

Since then, Paris has advocated for the closure of the Utah boarding school and other institutions accused of abusing youngsters. She spoke against Provo Canyon School earlier this year in support of a bill that would overhaul Utah's regulations governing similar institutions. The bill was signed into law in April.

Finally, Kathy Hilton expressed her gratitude for the life she and her family have lived. She believes that every good and bad life experience has helped them get to where they are now as a family and that each experience has only deepened their bond.
