Actress Kim Cattrall is remembering her late brother Christopher Cattrall on his 59th birthday and wrote a sweet remembrance post for him along with advocating for suicide prevention.

The Golden Globe-winning actress posted a throwback picture with her brother and paid tribute to him with a caption, "Today would have been my baby brother Chris's 59th birthday. Happy Birthday, sweet 'Topher. We miss you today and every day. RIPx #Suicide Prevention”.

Christopher passed away in February 2018 by suicide after he went missing in Lacombe, Alberta, Canada. Kim Cattrall posted on her Instagram and urged everyone to help them find Chris before announcing that he had passed away. She wrote at that time, "It is with great sadness that myself and my family announce the unexpected passing of our son and brother, Chris Cattrall. At this time, we ask for privacy. We want to thank you all on social media for your outpouring of love and support during this trying time. "

The actress opened up about her brother’s demise in 2019 while promoting her show "Filthy Rich," and shared that losing him has taught her to appreciate her relationships. She said, "I think recently, the thing that has taught me the most is loss. I’ve lost two family members, and I think what it teaches me, I’m not there yet, but to really enjoy what you do, your family, your friends, to really appreciate... when I say goodbye to somebody I’m not going to see for a while. The thought is now I might not see them again for a couple months, but I want to keep those connections. I feel I value them much more. They take up more of how I want to spend my time because I realize how precious it is. "

In 2018, weeks after Christopher’s passing away, Kim Cattrall traveled to Scotland where she honored her brother and lit a candle in his memory. She posted a picture and captioned it at that time, “Thank you to St Cuthbert’s Parish Minister in Edinburgh Reverend Peter Sutton and our wonderful, joyful Scottish friends for making us laugh today. Lighting a candle in memory of our brother, son, father, & husband, Christopher Adrian Alexander Cattrall. Forever in our thoughts. RIP xo.”

Sending you so much love and a big big cosmic hug."

Since her brother Christopher Cattrall’s passing away by suicide, Kim Cattrall has been not only educating herself but also others about Suicide and urging the individuals to ask for help if needed. Kim Cattrall in her interview with The Guardian back in 2019 had shared that her parents were a huge influence on the person she is today and shared what her father told her, “You can do anything.” So I grew up thinking that if he believed in me, I could do whatever I put my mind to.”

Back in 2019 during the interview, she had shared, “The tragedies in my life continue to shape me. Now I don’t want to be in a situation for even an hour where I’m not enjoying myself. I want to choose who I spend time with personally and professionally. It’s my life. I lost my dad seven years ago, to Alzheimer’s, and Mum has just turned 90. I’ve become aware there’s only so much time left.”

Kim Cattrall who is known as Samantha Jones from ‘Sex and the City’, refused to be a part of the sequel ‘And Just Like That’ because she shared that after the second movie, she outgrow the character and had enough. At the end of her 2019 The Guardian interview, Kim said, “I’d like to be remembered as somebody who was entertaining and honest. I pretend for a living so it’s nice in the real world to be truthful. I like to think my honesty is the Liverpudlian in me.”
