Kim Kardashian was seen as a different person when she was with Kanye West.
During a recent interview with Interview Magazine’s editor-in-chief Mel Ottenberg for the magazine's September 2022 American Dream issue, Kim Kardashian opened up about her relationship with Kanye West and how she was seen as a different person at the time.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West started dating in 2012, were married in 2014, and announced their separation in 2021. The former couple is currently in the middle of their divorce settlement but has been co-parenting their four kids, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
Kim Kardashian said during the interview that when she was with Kanye West, he was introducing her to a lot of people, which eventually got a lot of people to have different levels of respect for her. At the time, she realized that she had arrived in the ‘high society' and added that she has also seen a shit more recently, going to law school, just doing what she wanted and becoming her person, and people seeing that and respecting her choice. Kim added that there are levels to it. This is not the first time Kim Kardashian has appreciated Kanye West for her evolvement as recently when she launched her SKNN BY KIM, she thanked Kanye West and his team for their inputs, ideas and help. She has always mentioned that Kanye West's vision changed the fashion game for her as he liked to dress her up. Although the couple are in between a messy divorce situation, their focus is always to protect and give priority to the kids.
During the interview, Mel Ottenberg said to Kim Kardashian that he was curious to know her view from being a girl with no talent to coming this far and asked her what her talent was. Kim said that people used to say that about her all the time and she would just think that she needed to be a fucking circus animal, but added that it comes from people saying that what she is famous for and she is like they have a TV show.
Kim continued that just because they are not singing or dancing or acting on the show does not mean that the fame did not come from that, but the beauty mogul said that people would still ask her what her talent was and she would be like, she had no idea that she needed one, but clarified that she could give a person a million fucking talents. She can cook well, use her toes for anything, and said she could tell someone the weirdest fucking shit on the planet. But she thinks her talent is in marketing and the business behind selling products; she knows what the customer wants and makes it feel attainable, but also a bit unattainable at the same time. Kim added that she wouldn’t say that’s a talent, but she thinks it’s a bit of magic and business savvy.
When asked about what her bio on her Wikipedia page would be, Kim Kardashian said that she does not care what people think or say about her as her current bio on Wikipedia says, "Kim Kardashian is an American socialite, model, media personality, and businesswoman." She said that she would just say that it’s more on the business side because that’s all she has really cared about and someday she hopes it will say, lawyer and mother, as those are the most important roles in her life, but added that she does not look up at her Wikipedia page and does not care.
Kim Kardashian, in the same interview, also talked about her then boyfriend, Pete Davidson (the interview was recorded before the couple broke up). She was asked about the BDE comment she made and Kim said that Pete is such a cutie and added that he is such a good person and they don’t really make them like him anymore. Kim added that she is excited about what he has coming up.
Unfortunately, the couple decided to end things between them after nine months of dating each other. The reason why they split up was because of their busy schedules, as they both travel a lot and it was just hard for them to keep going. Although Kim and Pete have ended their relationship on a good note, none of them have actually commented on their split.
