Actress Kristen Stewart recently spoke to The New Yorker about her honest experience while filming the successful movie "Twilight," which serves as a career retrospective. During the conversation, the actress also shared her first impression of co-star and later off-screen boyfriend Robert Pattinson, who played the role of Edward Cullen.

The actress said she mimicked a swoon, recreating her impression of him. According to a recent interview with the actress, The New Yorker reported that actors Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson read lines together for the roles and made them out as part of their audition. She said, "It was so clear who worked. I was actually just, like, [He had an] intellectual approach that was combined with ‘I don’t give a fuck about this, but I’m going to make this sing.’ And I was like, "Ugh, same." And, whatever, we were young and stupid and, not to say that we made it so much better, but that’s what it needed, and that’s what anybody playing those parts needed to feel".

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart met on the sets of Twilight, where the two played the iconic lead roles of Edward and Bella and the actress was in a relationship when the two met in 2008. However, following her breakup from Michael Angarano in 2009, rumors began to swirl about her and Robert Pattinson and the two become an item and they confirmed their relationship in 2010.

In one of the interviews in November 2019, Kristen Stewart said that she would’ve even married him while they were dating. She added, "I wanted to... yeah. I don’t know, I’m not a super-duper traditionalist, but at the same time. Every relationship I’ve ever been in, I thought was over. I’ve never, like, casually—maybe one or two, okay, I’m not giving everyone that due. I’ve never really been the most casual person. We were together for years. That was my first [love]". Kristen Stewart still calls Robert Pattinson "the best".

Kristen Stewart also stated that the public stoicism surrounding her role in the film helped her to stay focused on her career in Hollywood, and she thought it was amusing how the audience believes they know the celebrities. She added, "Did you think I was going to do Twilight forever? Is that how you saw me? If that’s how you saw me, then you really set me up for success, because I can do way more than that. "

The actress who is portraying Princess Diana in Spencer's shared that the couple’s relationship came under public scrutiny so much that she almost felt like they weren't in love anymore. Kristen Stewart shared, "It wasn't real life anymore and that was gross to me. It's not that I want to hide who I am or anything I’m doing in my life. It’s that I don't want to become a part of a story for entertainment value".

The duo dated until 2013 and the news of their breakup crushed so many hearts. The actress said that the couple did not have a chance to have a real relationship since they worked so hard not to give the press what they wanted. She said, "So much was taken from us that, in trying to control one aspect, we were just like, 'No, we will never talk about it. Never. Because it’s ours". The breakup of the couple was also because of the cheating scandal that involved Kristen Stewart and director Rupert Huntsman and as soon as the pictures of the two emerged online and Kristen Stewart wrote a public apology to Robert Pattinson

In a statement at the time, Kristen Stewart said "I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardised the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry."

During her interview with Howard Stern, she clarified that she never had sex with the director but she never clarified it back because she felt that people won't believe her. She added, "We lived in a different time then, you know what I mean? I feel like the slut-shaming that went down was so absurd"

Robert Pattinson, on the other hand, felt something similar with his relationship being in the public eye. In a 2018 interview, he shared, "If you let people in, it devalues what love is. The line between when you’re performing and when you’re not will eventually get washed away, and you’ll go completely mad. "

Both Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have both moved on and are open about their relationship where Kristen Stewart is engaged to Dylan Meyer, Robert Pattinson is dating supermodel Suki Waterhouse.

The actress also opened up about how her sexuality affected her career, telling Harper's Bazaar, "I was informed by an old-school mentality, which is—you want to preserve your career and your success and your productivity, and there are people in the world who don't like you, and they don't like that you date girls, and they don't like that you don't identify as a quote-unquote "lesbian," but you also don’t identify as a quote-unquote "heterosexual."

"She simply kind of emphasised that she was reared with wolves, actual wolves, that the family took care of wolves," Twilight director Catherine remarked during the audition process. Although they were wolf dogs in real life, that tiny detail didn't stop her from demonstrating her abilities when dealing with CGI wolf-man hybrid Taylor Lautner.

When it was announced that Robert Pattinson was going to play Batman, Kristen Stewart was asked if she’d like to be a part of the franchise, to which she replied that she’d be interested in playing the Joker in the sequel to his upcoming movie, The Batman.

According to Variety, Kristen Stewart said, "I love the energy behind that. But let’s figure something else out. I’m totally down to playing a freaky, scary person". Kristen Stewart has received critical acclaim for her portrayal of Princess Diana in the biographical psychological drama movie "Spencer," which was written by Steven Knight and directed by Pablo Larran. Diana's choice to divorce Prince Charles (played by Jack Farthing) and quit the British royal family is fictionalized in the film.

On November 5, 2021, it was released in theaters in the United Kingdom and the United States. The film received mostly excellent reviews from critics, who praised Kristen Stewart's acting in particular.

The actress announced on November 2nd, 2021, that she was engaged to screenwriter Dylan Meyer, and Meyer popped the question. In a conversation with Howard Stern, she said, "We're marrying. We're totally going to do it. I wanted to be proposed to, so I think I very distinctly carved out what I wanted, and she nailed it. We're marrying; it's happening. "
