Lady Gaga calls Britney Spears inspiration for women after the termination of her 14-year-long conservatorship

Los Angeles County Judge Brenda Penny announced and approved Jamie Spears’ petition to terminate the conservatorship of 39-year-old daughter, singer, and pop star Britney Spears after she requested the judge to let her out of the legal situation this summer during an appearance at the court.  

The judge announced, "The court finds and determines that the conservatorship of the person and the estate is no longer required. Therefore, effective today, the conservatorship of the person and estate of Britney Jean Spears is hereby terminated." On the same day, her temporary conservator, John Zabel, was told that he would keep "administrative powers" over the trust and estate. According to Montgomery's attorney, Lauriann Wright, her conservator, Jodi Montgomery, will "be there for anything she needs.

Britney Spears’ attorney, Mathew Rosengart, called the day of the announcement a "monumental day." He said, "What's next for Britney is up to one person—and this is the first time we can say this in a decade. It's up to Britney. As of today, Britney is a free woman".

After the decision of Britney Spears’ 14-year-long conservatorship was announced, Lady Gaga took to her social media to share a picture of the two from the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards with the caption, "I have loved @britneyspears her entire career. I looked up to her and admired her strength—she empowered so many people and still does. I couldn’t be happier for you today. You never deserved what happened. Thank God for today. You’re a superstar and a super-human being. I LOVE YOU. "

Recently, at the New York premiere of her upcoming movie, House of Gucci, Lady Gaga was asked about Britney Spears’ successful end of a 13-year conservatorship by Extra’s Cheslie Kryst. To which Lady Gaga replied, "The legal system doesn’t care about what we have to say. I prayed for her this whole time, and I am so happy for her. I don’t want to speak on her behalf. I want everyone to know we can all cheer her on, but really and truly, it’s her that made this happen, and I think we should applaud her for adopting her freedom. "

Britney Spears took to her Instagram story to share a video of Lady Gaga where Lady Gaga is seen responding to a question about Britney Spears’ conservatorship ending and the singer replied, "The way that she was treated in this business was wrong, and the way that women are treated in the music industry is something that I wish would change. I think she will forever be an inspiration to women. " Britney Spears wrote, "Thank you, @ladygaga, for genuinely taking your time to say something so kind. You made me cry!!! I love you!!! "

Britney Spears herself was thrilled with the decision of the termination of her conservatorship, as she shared a video of the hundreds of #FreeBritney supporters who were at the Los Angeles courthouse on Friday. She wrote on her social media along with the video, "I love my fans so much it's crazy. I think I'm going to cry the rest of the day!!!! Best day ever. "

The singer, Britney Spears later took to her social media to call out singer Christina Aguilera as she passed on a question related to Britney Spears’ conservatorship at the 2021 Latin Grammy Awards red carpet. As soon as the question was asked to Christina Aguilera by the reporter, she turned towards her publicist, who interrupted the interview and said, "No, we’re not doing that tonight. I am sorry. Thank you, though. Bye!" Although, while she was being escorted away, Christina Aguilera said, "I can’t, but I am happy for her."

Christina Aguilera, had although spoken for Britney Spears’ conservatorship earlier on social media as she posted a picture of the two from their Mickey Mouse Clubhouse days and called the conservatorship’s treatment "unacceptable." She wrote, "These past few days, I've been thinking about Britney and everything she is going through. It is unacceptable that any woman, or human, wanting to be in control of their own destiny might be allowed to live life as they wish".

During the New York premiere of "House of Gucci," Lady Gaga mentioned that the premiere meant so much to her due to her Italian roots. She mentioned during the interview, "My family is Italian. They are here tonight. We’re at Lincoln Center. I grew up three blocks from where we are. This is a huge, huge accomplishment and an emotional experience for my family. "

Britney Spears is engaged to Sam Asghari and the two are looking forward to getting married and starting their family soon. Sam Asghari during an interaction with Variety mentioned,  “I am so happy for her, and I’ve been a backbone for her as much as I could, but this is all on her. She’s been a rock. She inspires me. She loves her fans. So you know, all the fans and her effort, kind of make this become, you know, possible. So I’m happy for her.”
