Lamar Odom opens up about his marriage with Khloe Kardashian.
On Monday, the new TV special TMZ Presents: Lamar Odom: Sex, Drugs, and Kardashians aired, in which Lamar Odom admitted to Harvey Levin about his marriage to The Kardashians star Khloe Kardashian.
Lamar Odom said that he married Khloe Kardashian because he knew that marrying a reality TV star would give him relevance in so many ways in the entertainment world, even though he was famous in his own right as an amazing basketball player. He added that he knew what he had signed up for and that he was doing business with her, noting that it was her business, so he was making it his business.
Kris Jenner, Khloe Kardashian's mother, was Lamar Odom's manager during their marriage, which lasted from 2009 to 2016. Lamar stated that he referred to Kris Jenner as "maa," and that she had showcased him a great deal of affection and had been extremely cool about him being a part of the business, adding that all of them got into the company together. The former NBA player stated that he was comfy enough even for Kris Jenner to be his manager and he was happy to do it for money, so he came on the positive side.
Lamar Odom went on to talk about the time he was in the hospital after a drug overdose at Nevada brothel The Love Ranch in 2015, and how Khloe Kardashian would bring him pictures of his mother and grandmother to help him remember. He went on to say that no matter how much he wanted to acknowledge her, he really can not convey how he genuinely felt since he wasn't speaking or saying anything at the time. Despite their 2013 divorce, Khloe Kardashian and her family did rush to Lamar Odom's side after he was admitted to a hospital and placed on life-sustaining treatment in 2015. The Good American founder withdrew her filing of the divorce so that she could take medical decisions for Lamar but the couple finalized their divorce in 2016.
The former basketball player told Harvey Levin that he hoped he was more aware at the time to express his gratitude to her, but he couldn't communicate how he truly felt. Lamar voiced his understanding that it had to be extremely frustrating for her. He also tried to claim that he went there and didn't even do drugs that night; he ended up going there, had the drink, and a few days later woke up ripping tubes out of his neck, not recognizing how he got there. Lamar said that they told him that he was going to never walk or talk again. He also said that in their marriage, cocaine was his girlfriend, and admitted that he had to tell Khloe Kardashian, adding that he couldn’t hide that forever. She was hurt, but he stated that Khloe Kardashian was a good wife because she was not dismissive about it but instead was protective and wanted to protect him even more.
Lamar revealed that the infamous SoulCycle moment happened two years after Khloé filed for divorce, and Lamar has retained that Kris set him up. He said that from what he can recollect, he is a little foggy, but Kris Jenner kind of connected it up for him to meet Khloé off the at SoulCycle. He did explain that he dropped drastically there and Khloé treated him as if he won't realize who he was, which was somewhat hurtful, and that she had been making a scene when the paparazzi appeared out of the blue. So he's hurt by that, but then it comes out that he attempted to put his hands onto her or something—then he's truly hurt, and he gets emotional.
Lamar made these assertions in his 2019 book, and Kris vehemently denied any active participation in the gathering at the time. Regarding Khloe Kardashian's poor luck with men staying faithful, Lamar Odom stated that the next guy in her life would let hope do a lot better, adding that she ought to have managed to learn from him and Tristan Thompson, who also cheated on her. The reality TV star conveyed her warm wishes to him at the reunion of Keeping Up With the Kardashians in 2021 but did admit that she no longer talks to him.
According to sources, Khloe Kardashian is deeply opposed to her ex-husband's documentary regarding their marriage, which was released on January 2. Khloe seems to want not to be involved and wishes that neither her name nor that of her family were being attracted to it. She holds no deep resentment against him and wishes he would completely forget about it. Khloe believes it is inappropriate to rehash the situation and wishes he would stop bringing it up. He has the right to tell his story, but she would prefer that he not include her name.
