Latin American Music Awards 2022 Winners announced

The 2022 Latin American Music Awards were held at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on April 21st, 2022. Rafael Amaya, Jacqueline Bracamontes, and Cristián de la Fuente hosted the ceremony and the annual award ceremony is conducted to honor the most influential and talented Latin artists.

Artist Christian Nodal was honored with the Extraordinary Evolution award, and Lupita D’Alessio was honored with the Legend Award at the ceremony. While accepting the Extraordinary Evolution award, Christian Nodal said that he wants to thank everyone from the bottom of his heart for making his five years in the industry go by so fast. He thanked his fans for their unconditional support and love and just their belief in him as an artist and a person. Christian Nodal performed a medley of hit and successful songs after receiving the award and the his song set included the songs “Adiós Amor,” “De Los Besos Que Te Di,” “Probablemente” “Ya No Somos Ni Seremos”, and “Botella Tras Botella”.

The Extraordinary Evolution award is presented to an artist who has showcased change and accelerated growth as an artist in a short period. Previously Maluma, Becky-G, and Ozuna have been honored with the award.

For Lupita D’Alessio, while accepting the Legend Award, she remembered her family, and her teachers and expressed her gratitude towards El Puma and the audience who had loved her and her music for all these years.

The Black Eyed Peas grandly opened the show by getting more than 25 Latin artists on stage during the opening act which they dedicated to send out a message of love, unity, resilience, and peace in solidarity with Ukraine. Ukraine was invaded by Russia two months ago, and the people of Ukraine have been suffering as a result. However, they have not given up, so the group and artists such as Farruko, Ozuna, Bosa, Prince Royce, Sofia Reyes, Adriel Favela, Calibre 50, and Gerardo Ortiz, among others, performed 'Where Is The Love?' on stage with the group to honor their spirit of not giving up.

All the artists were dressed in white and Ukraine artist NK carried a Ukraine flag. In the middle of the performance, Farruko rapped out to the beat of the pop track to give out a message of tolerance and unity.
