The 32-year-old American star Jonathan Majors, who starred in the role of Kang the Conqueror in Marvel Studios’ latest action-comedy television series Loki, says he was unaware of his MCU’s character arc when he agreed to take the mantle of the time-traveling supervillain.

"Well I knew everything that everyone else knew, you know, and still do actually. Where it's like this is the role, and this is where we're starting. That's as far as we got. And that was enough for me to try to understand who this character was. When I looked at the significance of Kang in the MCU, I agreed to the role in the same way I agree to any other film that I do. What is the responsibility of the character? Can the world move forward without them? Can the scene move forward without them? And if it can then I'm okay. And if it can't then it's something that I want to take on and take that responsibility," Majors says to Collider in a recent interview, explaining the shocking detail that how he was totally unaware of the fact that what part his character Kang is going to play in the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe world.

Major is next set to feature in Peyton Reed’s directed upcoming superhero blockbuster Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, where he will be seen taking on Ant-man and his partner Wasp using his time-traveling superpowers.

Although the actor didn’t make any comments regarding the superhero blockbuster that he is going to star in next. "Well, it's a different script, so there's that. Different writers, and I'm shooting in a different country," Major said. "And you know, 'He Who Remians' is in the world now, so there's so much we know about him ... There's what? 40 minutes of that guy in that narrative, and so it really set me up to tell a story and ... have another canvass with more players. This time it's not the incredible Tom Hiddleston. This time I'm dealing with Paul Rudd and Evangeline and the likes of the Ant-Man family, so it's a whole different world and I'm just exploring it and trying to do the best,” Majors previously said of the experience he had while working on the Ant-Man sequel with the films’ leading stars Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly.
