Lucy Hale is celebrating her small victories.

On the occasion of Valentine’s Day, actress Lucy Hale took to social media to share a very significant moment in her life, which is one year of sobriety. The actress shared a picture of a cake on her social media that had "one year" written on it with sprinkles and a caption that read that this is an alternative Valentine’s Day post, adding that it is about self-love and about the greatest thing she has ever done.

Lucy continued that on January 2, 2023, she celebrated one year of sobriety, and while her journey has mostly been private, she felt compelled to share her milestone to let anyone who is struggling know that they are not alone and they are loved. Singer Demi Lovato commented under the post that she is so proud of her, adding that she loves her so much and thanked her for being a part of her journey and allowing her to be a part of hers.

Lucy Hale's accomplishment was also described as amazing by actress Lili Reinhart, and actress Lily Collins added that she loves her and is very proud of her. Selma Blair, an actress, and activist, also commented on Lucy's post, saying, "Happy birthday, sweetheart. She's so proud of herself for saying it's a whole excursion stating that she is always around if she needs her. Selma said gratitude is a powerful feeling and she is amazing.

Lucy Hale's former Pretty Little Liars co-stars congratulated her, with Troian Bellisario saying, "Congratulations, Lucy." Actress Janel Parrish wrote that this is courageous, cool, and inspiring. A ccording to Janel, Lucy deserves all of the self-love and love from others that comes with it. Tyler Blackburn, an actor, wrote that she is amazing and that he has a lot of love and respect for her. Shay Mitchell also added a heart emoji, and Sasha Pieterse wrote, "I love you."

This is not the first time Lucy Hale has spoken out about quitting drinking. In 2017, she told Byrdie that "Pretty Little Liars" was a great chapter of her life, but it's exciting to start over, admitting that being a part of such a popular show means everyone just says yes to them, so they get away with a lot and then they make mistakes. Lucy also mentioned at the time that she is just always trying to surround herself with better people and be the best version of herself possible adding that she has "no interest" in partying any longer.

While appearing on the Broad Ideas with Rachel Bilson podcast last month, Lucy Hale finally opened up about another change in her life: making a decision not to settle for a fixer-upper boyfriend after having done so in the past. She explained that she claims to believe people can find an individual with whom they have a 10 out of 10 mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical connection.

Lucy decided to add that she believes it is possible and that many people settle, but she will not fucking compromise. Lucy conceded that she will die alone before settling before saying that she understands how dramatic it is, but that's how she feels.

The Hating Game actress admitted that she has previously been in relationships in which she tried and failed to "fix" her boyfriend. Lucy stated that she generally treated her partner as a little project to fix, as if 'their problems are worse than hers,' so they will improve her feelings about herself simply because she is assisting them in fixing themselves. For a variety of reasons, the actress stated that she has not been involved in what she'd consider a steady relationship in years. But she's at the point where she's starting to think, okay, she understands precisely what she's looking for, and the guys she's dating in the past have all been primarily exact replicas of the same guy.
