The legendary singer and performer Madonna recently appeared on ‘The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon'  on Thursday to promote her new documentary film, ‘Madame X’ which is going to feature on Paramount+.

‘Madame X’ is a two-hour special that was shot during Madonna’s Madame X world tour. The tour, which took place from September 2019 to March of last year in small venues where she prohibited supporters from using their phones, lasted from September 2019 to March of last year. The visual autobiography was directed by Ricardo Gomes, and SKNX provided the visual accompaniment for the special.

Madonna explained that she is taking control of her visual autobiography, not a ‘biopic’ because past attempts at doing so have all come from a male perspective. She said, "People have tried to write movies about me, but they're always men...ugh. [Universal] sent me a script, and they wanted my blessing and I read it, and it was one of the most hideous, superficial, crap I've ever read. And then I found out —I'm not even going to say his name, but he's a total misogynist—was directing, and I'm thinking 'Why would these people make a movie about my life?'"

The singer continued that there was nothing true in that script and the guy who was making it had no understanding of women, no appreciating or respect for women. Madonna added that this had happened a couple of times, and she had to call people up and everybody and threatened them to say that if they go through it, she will protest.

The singer’s experience with the studios and makers is what pushed her to write her own story and direct it in her way. She believed that no one in the world could write, direct and make a movie about her that is honest and factual better than herself.

"I want to convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer—a human being, trying to make her way in this world. The focus of this film will always be music. Music has kept me going, and art has kept me alive. There are so many untold and inspiring stories, and who better to tell it than me. It's essential to share the roller coaster ride of my life with my voice and vision”, she shared in a statement on her website last year.

During the interview, Madonna mentioned that she truly believes in the saying that ‘Artists are here to disturb the peace,’ and she went on to praise writer James Baldwin stating that he had a huge impact on her and quoting him she adds, "And so, I hope that I have disturbed not only your peace this afternoon but people’s peace while they watch the show, but I mean that in the best way." At one point during the interview, Madonna lay on the top of Jimmy Fallon’s table and flashed her bum on screen. That instantly grabbed a lot of attention from the audience and the viewers.

‘Madame X’ has left Madonna’s fans utterly astonished as she admits that ‘men like to f*** me then get out. She also adds that she is known for self-pleasuring on stage. During a conversation with US comedian Dave Chappell, Madonna said, “I always masturbate, I’m known for it. You’re known for smoking on stage, I’m known for masturbating on stage.”

Madonna is currently dating 27-year-old backing dancer Ahlamalik Williams and states that she is just getting started when it comes to her ever-scandalous life. In the documentary, the audience will see her in a dazzling array of Portuguese-inspired outfits in the show, having written much of her 2019 album Madame X while living in the capital city Lisbon.

Every night on the Madame X Tour, I did a show with just a couple thousand people, which is really quite small for me. I could interact with the audience, and no one had phones, so people could not take pictures—there was nothing between me and those crowds," Madonna shared in a previous interview with Vogue. She had kept a special screening for the same in September for close friends in The Edition Hotel‘s Paradise Club in Times Square.

Her guests in the film are sweet and surprising – daughter Estere is part of a group sing-along of “Express Yourself,” son David escorts her offstage to a chair in the crowd next to … Dave Chappelle – and the presence of all illuminate Madonna at her most unguarded. The 63-year-old performer mentioned in an interview with Vogue that 'Madame X' has been one of the most incredible experience for her and she had to document the entire process starting from the rehearsals to the main show and what was going on in her mind.

The legendary singer was asked about the roles she has turned down in her career that include ‘Cat woman’ and ‘Showgirls’. To which she said, “I saw them both, and I regret that I turned down Cat woman — that was fierce. But Showgirls, no.” Madonna further revealed that when she turned down a role in ‘The Matrix’ she wanted to kill herself because that is one of the best films in the world.

Madonna did not go into the specifications about which character she was offered, but Trinity was the only lead female role. The masterful Carrie-Anne Moss ultimately played it.

‘The Matrix Resurrections’ is the fourth installment in ‘The Matrix’ franchise, which is not only massively successful but has managed to gross over $1.6 billion worldwide. The fourth installment is set to release in December where Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Jada Pinkett Smith reprise their roles from previous films in the series. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Christina Ricci join the original cast.
