Mark Hoppus feels happy to reconnect with Tom DeLonge.

Bassist-vocalist of Blink-182, Mark Hoppus in a new issue of People magazine opens up about reconnecting with bandmate Tom DeLonge and what the future holds for the band.

After Mark Hoppus revealed that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in April 2021, band members Travis Barker and Tom DeLonge reconnected as they visited Mark Hoppus at home before the bassist began his chemotherapy.

Mark Hoppus shared that it was the first time they were all in the same room in like five years and it was better than they expected as it had no agenda or lingering grudges and it felt very much like what it should have been: three friends sitting in a room. The bassist-vocalist said that he underwent a brutal chemo treatment, but now everyone is in a great place and things are looking good. Mark Hoppus was declared cancer free in September and was slowly getting back to work as he started writing a book, launching a record company, 'Verswire', and hosting a radio show on Apple Music.

Mark shared with the publication that he keeps writing music and he is open to whatever the next phase of Blink-182 is and added that he is hopeful that he is here to see what the future holds for them. One thing that Mark Hoppus is also known for is his friendship that he has with Travis Barker since he decided to travel to Italy to celebrate Travis Barker’s wedding with Kourtney Kardashian.

Mark said that while he was aware that it was a special occasion for them, he simply felt fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel after becoming ill and to engage in typical activities like attending a wedding, traveling, visiting friends, and engaging in all the pleasantries that he had  been missing out on for the past two years due to both the pandemic and his cancer. He added that the trip to Italy was filled with happiness, joy, mingling with new people, visiting friends he has not seen in a while and catching up, eating delicious food in a gorgeous setting.

Despite the enormous show, Mark Hoppus, who visited Italy with his wife Skye, said that it seemed extremely natural and like family. He said that it was enjoyable and lovely, and he couldn't be more delighted for the couple. Describing Kourtney, Mark said that the Poosh founder is fantastic, and she makes Travis his best self since he had been home for a long time, he was happy to have the opportunity to celebrate himself along with being there for both of them.

Tom DeLonge, who departed the band which he co-founded in 2015, is rumored to be considering a comeback, although nothing is official at this time. Matt Skiba has been serving as the guaté-vocalist since Tom DeLonge left. When Matt Skiba, who took over for Tom DeLonge when he left, confessed in an Instagram remark that he is unsure of whether he is still in the band or not and the rumors about Tom DeLonge considering to come back to the band started to surface last month after he updated his bio and mentioned Blink-182.

Matt Skiba noted that everyone's estimate is as good as his since he is unsure if he is still a member of the group. Regardless, he is grateful and extremely proud of his time spent with Blink 182, and he added that the world will have to wait and see what the future holds. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Tom DeLonge discussed his choice to quit Blink-182 and work on the 2019 History Channel documentary Unidentified: Inside America's UFO Investigation.

Tom stated that the only two things on Earth (outside of my family) that he was interested in were music and this issue and that it is always difficult when someone is moving from something that they had spent their entire life, up to that point, to attain. Tom went on to say that he must remark how grateful and humbled he is that people still care about his music. Tom expressed his excitement for his Blink bandmates and their work, saying that he believes many people still believe he is a member of the group even if he is not currently on tour or working on new songs with them. He does, however, encourage their efforts to evolve. Tom concluded that all he wanted was for everyone to succeed in whatever way made them happy.
