Marvel Drops A Brand New featurette Of 'The Eternals'

A new featurette of the upcoming blockbuster film The Eternals has been released by Marvel, featuring the director, all the film stars which includes Salma Hayek's character Ajak, Angelina Jolie's character Thena, Brian Tyree Henry's character Phastos, Richard Madden's character Ikaris, Gemma Chan's character Sersi, Lauren Ridloff's character Makkari, Lia McHugh's character Sprite, Kumail Nanjiani's character Kingo, Barry Keoghan's character Druig, Don Lee's character Gilgamesh, Kit Harington's character Dane Whitman.

In the featurette, the fans see various superstars from the film explaining their character details and director Zhao revealing some major details of the film. "I think a big part of it is that audiences will be discovering the origin of the MCU through the mythology of the Celestials," Zhao said.

She also went on to say that at the end of the film the audience will have a clear idea of what it is that they could expect in the future of the superhero-based franchise. "I think by the end of the film, we will have a new understanding of planet Earth’s relationship with the cosmos, and also with her own inhabitants. But in that sense, it [will] have a huge effect on the future of the MCU," she added.

Zhao further says that the audience is definitely going to enjoy the film and will understand the relationship between the different characters.

She said, "The cameras are very grounded, and the movements are very natural, Shots are longer — we use wide-angle lenses and deep focus… It's about giving the audience the space and the time to be able to explore what's within the frame, and therefore come to their own conclusion of the relationship between the characters and the space they're in."

She continues by explaining the timeline of the much-awaited film, "In this case, you're going throughout history and 7,000 years, [and so it’s] even more important to make us feel like this world feels real and grounded," Zhao continued. "I wanted to apply that same digital style to everything from action, visual effects, to also capturing the grand mythology of the Celestials in the cosmos, and the consistency of that. I wanted it to feel grounded yet fantastical."

The featurette also features Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige explaining how the film will have a major impact on the future of MCU.

With the film set to release in theatres on 5th November 2021, it features Salma Hayek in the role of Ajak, Angelina Jolie in the role of Thena, Brian Tyree Henry in the role of Phastos, Richard Madden in the role of Ikaris, Gemma Chan in the role of Sersi, Lauren Ridloff in the role of Makkari, Lia McHugh in the role of Sprite, Kumail Nanjiani in the role of Kingo, Barry Keoghan in the role of Druig, Don Lee in the role of Gilgamesh, Kit Harington in the role of Dane Whitman with additional actors including Harish Patel, Haaz Steiman as Phastos' husband, Ozer Ercan as a smuggler and Zain Al Rafeea in an unknown role.
