Matthew Macfadyen, who stars in the successful series, "Succession," recently spoke about how he feels about seeing his wife Keeley Hawes’ intimate scenes opposite Eternals’ star Richard Madden in Netflix’s "Bodyguard."

Keeley Hawes plays Home Secretary Julia Montague, despite having opposite views on politics develops a relationship with her assigned PPO, David Budd, who is portrayed by Richard Madden. Keeley’s husband, Matthew Macfadyen, describes watching the intimate scenes between the two as' weird ’. During his recent interview with The Times, Matthew admitted that the scenes do strike a nerve a little.

The actor added, "You can get quite close to the actors you're working with and all that stuff, It's odd. "But being an actor himself and understanding how the industry works, Matthew also shared that he completely understands that filming a sex scene is the least sexy thing one can imagine.

The couple got married in 2004 after they met on the sets of the drama "Spooks", and have two children, daughter16-year-old Maggie and 15-year-old son Ralph. The Succession actor, Matthew Macfadyen also serves as a stepdad to 21-year-old Myles who Keeley shares with Spencer McCallum, her ex-husband.

Richard Madden had told PEOPLE back in December of 2018 that a possible season two of the hit show "Bodyguard" could be in the cards. He added, "It's a possibility. I'm meeting Jed [Mercurio], the writer, tomorrow. I think we'll probably have a glass of champagne and do some talking". There has been no official announcement from the team, but Jed Mercurio hinted that he could see the series running for four seasons.

He said, "It's probably fair to say we would probably approach any thoughts of a second series with the idea that it would create an opportunity for a third or fourth. We do feel very privileged and fortunate that there's been such a response that it gives us that opportunity to at least think about doing more. "

When it comes to Matthew Macfadyen, he is best known for his role as Tom Wambsgans, who is married to Siobhan "Shiv" Roy, Logan Roy's only daughter, in the film "Succession." Jesse Armstrong created the series, which is an American black comedy-drama television series. The series follows the Roy family, the dysfunctional owners of Waystar RoyCo, a global media and entertainment conglomerate, as they vie for control of the firm despite concerns about the family patriarch, Logan Roy's, health (Brian Cox). The series got extended for a fourth season in October 2021.

During his interview with ES Magazine, when Matthew Macfadyen was asked about how the couple manages their time together, the actor answered, "You just muddle through like everyone else." You just take it day by day. Can I do this? Will it work? " He further shared that he is grateful that people love the series so much and recalled, "I’ll be walking in a tiny square in Siena and someone goes, ‘TOM! TOM!’ It’s lovely because people aren’t that interested in me, and they don’t want selfies — they’re obsessed with the show. It’s very gratifying that people love it".

Bodyguard is a British political thriller television series written and created by Jed Mercurio and produced by World Productions as a part of ITV Studios for the BBC. The series centers around Police Sergeant David Budd, played by Richard Madden, a fictional character who is a British Army war veteran suffering from PTSD but now working for the Royalty and Specialist Protection Branch of London’s Metropolitan Police Service. Keeley Hawes, who plays Home Secretary Julia Montague, has David Budd as her assigned principal protection officer, and David despises Julia’s politics. The series focuses on PTSD along with questioning a lot of issues and controversies involving the government’s monitoring of private information.

Bodyguard premiered on BBC One on August 26th, 2018, and Netflix later agreed to show the series on their streaming platform outside the United Kingdom and Ireland. The series achieved the highest viewing figures for BBC One since 2008.
