Ubah Hassan is a Somalian model and philanthropist who has made New York her home. Before the new cast members were revealed, producer Lisa Shannon stated on Friday during the Ultimate Girls Trip panel that the destiny of the New York franchise is very bright and hinted that the audience will hear about a new cast very soon, adding that the housewives are a sensation and that everyone is excited about it.

Season 14 of The Real Housewives of New York City will begin filming this fall, with the season premiering in 2023. The show's executive producer, Andy Cohen, stated in March that the show is at a fork in the road, referring to the controversial plotlines involving Ramona Singer and other cast members. Andy asserted that they have spent a considerable amount of time evaluating where to go, and that the plan they have devised will be a true gift to the fans.

Andy confirmed that The Real Housewives of New York City took precedence over the 'Legacy' series, saying that they simply hope fans are pleased, and that they have not yet communicated to any of their classic The Real Housewives of New York City women about it. Andy Cohen described that the network desired to tell new stories and capture the energy of New York City, and everyone appears to be content with where they are right now. He also stated that the tv series will be reflective of the city and it will take place outside of the affluent Upper East Side.

Season 13 of The Real Housewives of New York City featured original cast members Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, and Ramona Singer, as well as Leah McSweeney and Ebony K. Williams. Andy Cohen, on the other hand, was hesitant to reveal who would be invited to RHONY: Legacy. The RHONY ratings dropped last year due to a feud between Ramona Singer and Ebony K. Williams, who frequently found themselves in heated discussions about race and politics.

According to a source, Bravo launched an internal investigation last October after objections of racism were filed among the cast. The source shared that the cast and production members were interrogated, but the inquiry was shut after nothing significant was discovered. According to the source, the investigation was one of the causes of the season 13 reunion being delayed and then canceled. A Bravo representative previously stated that the reunion was canceled due to scheduling challenges and that the network would shift its focus to the next season.

According to a Bravo press release, Season 14 of The Real Housewives of New York City will follow seven successful women as they operate in the same circle of friends, prospering in one of the most diverse and electric cities. The press release added that the housewives have made their mark in NYC, from fashion and real estate to philanthropy and social influence, and therefore will discover their lifestyles as they juggle professional lives, domestic life, and jam-packed social calendars in the city which never sleeps.
