Megan Thee Stallion, is recalling her trauma!

During her appearance on CBS Morning for an interview with Gayle King that aired on Monday, Megan Thee Stallion shared the trauma she endured following the situation where she was shot by Tory Lanez (according to her) in the Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles.

During the interview, Megan Thee Stallion mentioned that she has always been confident, loud, and outgoing as she enjoys having fun and entertaining. Megan Thee Stallion caught the audience’s attention after she teamed up with Nicki Minaj for her song "Hot Girl Summer" and Beyoncé, who remixed "Savage." But she mentioned that she wrote her first rap when she was seven years old and when she went off to college, she gained more confidence and was firm that she wanted to be a rapper.

In the interview, Megan Thee Stallion is heard telling Gayle King that it started with an argument following a party at Kylie Jenner’s house in July 2020. The argument was about because she was ready to go and everyone else was not ready to leave, but she added that it was all in a friendly manner, like friends fussing about silly stuff all the time. Megan added that she asked the driver to pull over, stating that she should have stayed out of the car, but others in the car kept asking her to get in, and she did, but the argument escalated and she got out of the car. That’s when she said Tory Lanez shot her. Megan added that she had never put a hand on someone, never raised her voice too loud and this was one of those times where she said that things should not have gone to this extent.

Addressing the shooting incident, Megan Thee Stallion shared that Tory Lanez, real name Daystar Peterson, was standing up over the window, shooting at her, and added that everything happened so fast and all she could hear was a man’s voice screaming at her and asking her to dance. Tory started shooting and Megan added that all she thought at the moment was that he shot her a couple of times.

During her interview with Gayle King, the Grammy Award-winning rapper explains that she did not want to move because she believed at the time that if she did, he could have shot at something more serious. Megan tearfully added that she feared that he could shoot her and kill her. The rapper added that she was scared because she had never been shot before and also mentioned that Tory Lanez offered to pay her money in exchange for keeping quiet about the incident.

She said that she looked down at her feet and saw the blood coming out and crawled into someone’s driveway. The rapper mentioned that when the cops arrived after it was reported that shots had been fired, she lied to them and said that she had stepped on broken glass to protect the group in the wake of the police killing of Geoge Floyd. Megan tearfully added that she wished she would have simply told the cops the truth because their statement has been used against her by people who believe that she is lying.

According to reports from Cedars Sinai Medical Center, the rapper had bullet fragments in both of her feet, some of which remained. She shared with Gayle that sometimes she thinks that it’s her fault because after her mother passed away, she was looking for some sort of family environment and let a lot of people in and did not care much.

Tory Lanez was arrested at the time on the charge of carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle and was released on $35,000 bail at the same time. The artist was charged in October with assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and driving a vehicle with a loaded unlicensed firearm. Tory Lanez has pleaded not guilty and was recently taken under custody and handcuffed inside the court for violating the court orders which stated that he should not be in contact with Megan Thee Stallion in any form or discuss any details of the case with a third person.

Tory Lanez had allegedly violated the court orders as he tried to address the rapper directly on his social media and shared the DNA evidence with a third party, which was later disclosed on social media. Tory Lanez is expected to appear in court in September and if he gets convicted, he could face jail time of up to 23 years. But Tory Lanez has claimed that he has not done anything and is being framed.

During the interview, Megan Thee Stallion also spoke about her parents, who are no longer with her to see her grow. Megan lost her mother in 2019 and had already lost her father when she was 15. She mentioned that it was hard for her because they were her best friends and they just let her be the way she was. Megan mentioned that her parents taught her that she could not let somebody else's insecurities make her insecure.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office shared with CBS that the evidence they have substantially supports the charges and allegations and that they are confident that justice will be served in court.
