The 33-year old actress Michaela Coel with her powerful addressing speech after winning the award for writing a limited series for her show I May Destroy You at the recently held 73rd edition of the American award show has received a lot of praise from her fans and followers all around the globe.

The British actress at the 73rd Emmy Awards, in her award acceptance speech, addressed the audience saying, “I just wrote a little something for writers really.” Coel added, "Write the title that scares you, that makes you feel uncertain, that isn't comfortable. I dare you in a world that entices us to browse through the lives of others to help us better determine how we feel about ourselves, and to in turn fill the need to be constantly visible.” She went on to say, "For visibility, these days seems to equate to success. Do not be afraid to disappear from it, from us for a while, and see what comes to you in the silence."The actress further added, "I dedicate this story to every single survivor of sexual assaults.”

The actress worked on the television drama series as a co-director, creator, executive producer, and leading actress. The three-hour-long 73rd annual Emmy Award was held in Los Angeles on Sunday night and had a total of 28 live awards.

The story of the television series revolves around Arabella a young Twitter-star-turned-novelist in her late twenties who becomes more and more popular and earns fame with her debut book Chronicles of a Fed-Up Millennial. The young star later on struggles to complete her second book on a deadline as she continues to struggle she decides to take a break from work and meet up with friends on a night out in London. The following morning, she is shocked at the fact that she doesn't remember anything from the last night that actually happened to her, but she continues to try to recall the incidents of the night with the help of some of her good friends Terry and Kwame. The series was premiered on HBO on 7th June and on 8 June 2020 on BBC One.

The show features Michaela Coel, Weruche Opia, and Paapa Essiedu in the lead role of Arabella Essiedu, Terry Pratchard, and Kwame, respectively.
