Actress Mira Sorvino is looking back to her performance and experience she had while being a part of 1995’s "Mighty Aphrodite."

Mira Sorvino, who portrayed the character of Linda Ash in the movie that also starred Woody Allen as Lenny Weinrib, earned an Academy Award along with a Golden Globe for her incredible work.

During an appearance on Marc Maron’s "WTF" podcast, the actress said that although her work was tremendously appreciated, the experience had really "tainted" her career. The actress went on to acknowledge her mistake and said that she blames herself for not being aware enough to investigate what had happened with Dylan Farrow and Woody Allen. (Dylan Farrow was Woody Allen’s adoptive daughter).

Mira went ahead to say that she finds it very difficult to talk about it because after things started to surface, her opinion about Woody started to change, and she does not have the same opinion now compared to what she had back then.

With everything that went public with Dylan’s confession, Mira feels that her experience on the sets of Mighty Aphrodite and her performance has become a blur. It’s ruined now because she tried to treasure the moments when she should have denounced him and knew what was going on. Mira went ahead to explain how she would have known what was going on with Dylan and Woody.

The famous actress blames herself for not being able to hold others accountable for their mistakes, claiming that she was unable to educate herself sufficiently to form an opinion at the time. She clarified that this is not an excuse to let the person who made a mistake go and hold herself accountable by stating that she should have educated herself.

Mira added further in the interview that just because she grew up reading his plays, performing them in her high school, and admiring him (Woody Allen) for the brilliant artist he was, she could not cancel the part where there is a chance that he could be a terrible person who went ahead to hurt his daughter. She said that there was no forgiveness for that kind of mistake.

In 2017, Mira Sorvino, one of the first women who came forward with the sexual misconduct allegations against Harvey Weinstein, said that it baffles her the fact that her career’s early days are now tainted or spoiled because a major part of it includes Woody Allen and Harvey Weinstein. There have been reports of several directors admitting to blacklisting her at the special request of Harvey Weinstein. Director Peter Jackson admitted that Harvey Weinstein described Mira Sorvino as 'nightmare to avoid'.

Mira became friends with Dylan Farrow and stated in an open letter in 2018 that she would never work with Woody Allen again after learning what he did to his daughter. She apologized to Dylan and her mother for turning blindside when the allegations came out. In her interview, she explained that Dylan is an amazing person and she believes that she is telling the truth. In 2021, Dylan’s allegations and legal battle against Woody Allen were revisited in the HBO documentary, "Allen v. Farrow."

What is Dylan’s story? In 1992, Dylan Farrow claimed that Woody Allen molested her when she was merely 7 years old, and Woody denied the entire allegation. The director was not charged, but a Connecticut prosecutor did mention that there could be a cause for a criminal case. In 2014, Dylan Farrow went ahead to detail her allegations against Woody Allen.
