Nick Cannon gets candid about monogamy.

Nick Cannon recently shared his ideas on monogamy during an appearance on a YouTube Live with R&B duo DVSN and sex therapist Dr. Tammy Nelson. Open Monogamy was written by Dr. Tammy Nelson, who also works as a resident sex therapist for Ashley Madison.

When asked about being with a lady who has the same amount of children or baby dads as him throughout the chat, Nick Cannon said that his lifestyle only deserves him to respect everyone. The host of a daytime talk show said he would simply be a hypocrite about the entire thing adding that individuals are not in control of who they fall in love with or where their emotions lead them.

Nick proceeded by saying that while he would never judge someone based on how many children they had, he has been in relationships and friendships with women who have had 4, 5, or 6 children in a family at the same time. He continued, particularly when the person is a fantastic father.

Nick Cannon claimed that he has tried practicing monogamy but that he has failed at it. He also claimed that he has been toxic and a cheater, but at the moment he is only attempting to be the greatest version of himself and the best father he can be to his children. It all starts with being honest, Nick said, and he mentioned that his love relationships frequently include conditions based on what enables him to be the greatest version of himself.

It's just surface, fundamental stuff, the host said in his interview, and he stated that one of his therapists called what he does consensual monogamy since even pretending to be in a monogamous relationship would be deceptive. People often categorize what he does as polyamory or polygamy since, as we all know, monogamy defines one thing. Despite this, Nick Cannon constantly says that to define him is to constrain him.

Nick Cannon previously said that covenants could still be made without involving the government, in which a couple would declare their intention to remain monogamous because they value it so highly that they do not want to share it with anyone else. However, he emphasized that this practice is unhealthy. In February, he joined Dr. Laura Berman on the podcast The Language of Love. Nick went on to remark that he didn't believe monogamy was a good idea since it may result in selfishness and possessiveness.

The singer and television personality said he liked the notion of marriage but would only go down the aisle again if he met the perfect person during an interview on the All the Way with Shelly Wade podcast. He said that he is a hopeless romantic and he adores the idea of being married, but he has failed horrifically at monogamy and relationships so many times, but he stated that God is not done with him, so we'll work something out.

Nick Cannon added it's more about service and the sensation of being able to help each other, like being each other's strength when the other is weak. Acts of service are a significant love language for me. He said that if he finds someone who can support him through all of his insanity, mayhem, and poison, then that person is the one for him.

Monroe and Moroccan, twins of Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey, were born in the marriage, which lasted from 2008 until 2016. The host had a son Zen with Alyssa Scott in July 2021 and twins Zion and Zillion with Abby De La Rosa in June 2021; sadly, Zen went away in December after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. In addition, Bre Tiesi and Nick Cannon are expecting a boy. Nick Cannon is the father of Golden and Powerful Queen, a child he shares with Brittany Bell.

Last week, during his appearance on The Hottee Talk Show podcast, Nick Cannon said that Mariah Carey will always be the love of his life (he said baby) and added that he is still keeping the door open for the singer in the hopes that they might rekindle their romance sometime in the future. Nick Cannon added that maybe it’s because he is a true romantic and a believer in love, and he allows the capsules of love to be where they lie, and he is not a timeline dude. Nick admitted that he would never have the love he had with Mariah.

Nick further stated that what the two of them had was like a fairytale and would rather have it just that way. He appreciates that fantasy because if he tried to go back and it wasn’t the same, he’d be like he messed it up. but added that if he had a chance to rekindle everything just like that, he’d be down for it. Mariah Carey is currently in a six-year-long relationship with Bryan Tanaka and Nick Cannon says that he is amazing with their kids and during the family gatherings and things together, he is nice and Nick respects that.
