Paramount Pictures has finally released the official trailer for Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin. The trailer gives fans a first look and experience into the movie and teases them as to what they could expect from the upcoming horror film. The trailer also gives fans some glimpses into some creepy found footage bites.

Unlike other films in the Paranormals franchise the film will be unique and one of it's kind as it will not be based around mythology seen across the six other movies of the franchise, the film will likely reboot the franchise.

Based on various sources and reports the Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin was already completed despite the difficulties and delays in filming caused by the Coronavirus pandemic.

The film will feature Roland Buck III (Chicago Med, Better Call Saul), Dan Lippert (The Grand Slams, Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Emily Bader (Broken Visions, Charmed) and Henry Ayers-Brown (Blacklist, The Deuce). Christopher Landon serves as the writer and William Eubank as the director for the movie.

Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin writer Christopher Landon last year in an interview shared his excitement for the film. He said, "I think the creative forces behind that franchise, I think everyone's only interested in really doing it if it can be done well... I really loved that franchise and I enjoyed working and being a part of that team. It was an enormous amount of fun, but it was one of those things, too, that as the franchise went on, it was diminishing returns. It was a very difficult thing to sustain and that's the nature of franchise-building. So we'll see what happens there..."

He added,"Paramount wanted to continue Paranormal Activity, I probably would have left it alone. So they wanted to continue it, but I thought if they were gonna continue it, you gotta -- it was tired, there was no way to continue the road that we'd been down."

Paranormal Activity is a horror franchise based around a family haunted by a demon that stalks, terrifies and ultimately murders several members of the family and neighbors. The American franchise till now has six official released films with the seventh film planned to release this year. The first film in the franchise was released back in 2007 directed by Oren Peli with follow up of Paranormal Activity 2 directed by Tod Williams, Paranormal Activity 3 directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, Paranormal Activity 4 directed by Christopher Landon released in 2011, 2012 and 2012, respectively. Finally the last two films of the franchise Gregory Plotkin's Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones released in 2014 and William Eubank's

The franchise has overall received mixed reviews across all its films. The first installment and third installment in the franchise received generally positive critical reception while the second and fifth movies received more mixed reviews from the critics, and the fourth and sixth films mainly received negative reviews from the critics as well as fans. The series was commercially successful for the studio. It made strong profits at the box office based on return on investment.
