Paul Walker is to receive a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced the names of people who will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023, and late actor Paul Walker is one of two posthumous stars who will be recognized, according to sources. Other posthumous awardees in the motion film category include Academy Award-nominated actress Juanita Moore and singer Jenni Rivera.

At the press conference held to announce the names of the honorees for 2023, Chair of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Walk of Fame selection panel, Ellen K, said that the panel is very pleased to celebrate the new inductees. She said in a statement to Variety that the panel has thoughtfully selected the announced talents and they cannot wait to celebrate them as they become part of Hollywood’s history with the unveiling of their star on the world’s most famous walkway.

Not only will Paul Walker, the hero of the Fast and Furious franchise, be honored with a star, but so will his co-actor and rapper Ludacris. Actors including Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Kurt Russell, Charlize Theron, and 2 Fast 2 Furious filmmaker John Singleton are among the franchise's other stars on the Walk of Fame. After the announcement, Ludacris took to his social media to share his excitement and wrote that momma your son made it and said God is the Greatest! 

The late Paul Walker, who played Brian O’Conner opposite Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto, shared a great bond with the actor too, and after he passed away unfortunately in 2013 in a car accident, Vin Diesel has always expressed that there is no day where he does not think about Paul Walker and every Fast film he makes must at the core always honor his brother Pablo. Vin Diesel also walked Paul Walker’s daughter Meadow Walker down the aisle when she married her boyfriend in October.

After the announcement, actress Jordana Brewster, who played Paul Walker’s wife in the movie, took to her social media to celebrate the news and shared throwback pictures of the actor and wrote that he’s going to get his star and added shine on forever. Meadow Walker also took to her social media to share the news and wrote "Hollywood Walk of Fame class of 2023" and added congratulations before writing that she knows that the younger him would never believe it, but she also knows that he’s looking down with his infectious smile feeling embarrassed and grateful. Meadow added that Paul Walker earned the star and deserved to be on the walk of fame and more.

Paul Walker’s fans took to their social media and expressed how happy the news of their favorite actor being honored makes them, as they shared quotes by the late actor.

The new selections' ceremony dates have yet to be disclosed. Following their selection, recipients of stars must organize a ceremony, with the selection expiring after two years. The Walk of Fame committee announces star ceremonies 10 days ahead of time.

Other recipients for the 2023 star include Mindy Kaling, Ellen Pompeo, Uma Thurman, Vince Vaugh, Bill Pullman, the Jonas Brothers, Lenny Kravitz, Blake Shelton, Marc Anthony, Melba Moore, Pentatonix, and others.
