Prince Harry feels accountable.

In the new Netflix documentary series, "Harry and Meghan," Prince Harry admits that maybe he is the reason why Meghan Markle had a falling out with her father.

Prince Harry says in the documentary series that is currently streaming on Netflix that Meghan had a father before and now she does not have a father, and he adds that if Meghan Markle were not with him, her father would still be her father.

It is no news that the relationship between Meghan Markle and her father, Thomas Markle, soured during the royal wedding in 2018, and at one point it was revealed that Thomas was accepting payments from British paparazzi and staging pictures of him preparing for the wedding. The Duchess of Sussex revealed in the third episode that she learned from her father would not be walking her down the aisle from a TMZ story.

During their sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan Markle mentioned that her father’s actions felt like a betrayal and that she couldn’t reconcile. The drama between Meghan and Thomas has only grown since she got married into the royal family, and the contact between the two has lessened over time. Just before Meghan Markle was ready to walk down the aisle, tabloids published the news of Thomas having a heart attack and being hospitalized.

Viewers can hear Meghan recalling that, and then suddenly the media started to say that he was in the hospital and she had no idea about it. It was reported that Thomas Markle was not responding to Meghan Markle’s texts or calls, but he was talking to the media when she had texted him to stop talking to them and return their 20+ calls.

Their relationship is still on thin ice, but royal expert Katie Nicholl mentions in her book, "The New Royals," that Queen Elizabeth II, before her death, could see how damaging the situation between father and daughter had grown, and she spoke to Meghan and tried to encourage her to make it up with him.

In the three episodes that have been released and are streaming on Netflix, Meghan Markle reveals why she never wore color and opted to don muted-tone outfits when she was living in the UK. She said that she rarely wore color, adding that there was a thought behind that: in her understanding, one cannot ever wear the same color as Her Majesty if there is a group event.

Meghan continued that they were not supposed to wear the same color as one of the other more senior members of the family as well, so she thought about what colors they would never wear and narrowed it down to camel, white, and beige, adding that she was not trying to stand out as people would suggest but she was only trying to blend in, stating that there is no version of her joining the family and not trying to do things to fit in.

The "Archetypes" podcast host said that she did not intend to embarrass the family with her wardrobe and also highlighted a moment in which she branched out with a bold gown at the Salute to Freedom Gala in New York City in November 2021. In March, during an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry talked about how a senior family member asked about the skin tone of their son Archie. The former actress, who is biracial, also dwells on how things have been for her as a woman of color.

Meghan said that she is not going to say that it’s comfortable for her, but when someone feels like people have not gotten any sense of who they are for a long time, it’s nice to be able to have an opportunity to let people have a glimpse of what happened and also who they are. During the episode she also revealed about a painful conversation she had with her niece ahead of her wedding.

Duchess of Sussex revealed that she had a close bond with Ashleigh Hale who is her half-sister Samantha Markle's daughter and she wanted to invite her to the royal wedding in 2018 but went on to explain that how can they explain that half-sister is not invited to the wedding but her daughter is? Meghan continued that with Ashleigh, they had the guidance of not having her come to their wedding and they explained it to her which she recalled and descried as a painful conversation to have.

Ashleigh said that she was hurt on some level but she did understand where it all was coming from adding that knowing that it was because of her biological mother that her relationship with Meghan Markle, the one that meant a lot to her was impacted made her feel that it was taken away because of her and added that it was hard.

'Harry and Meghan' is streaming on Netflix.
