Priyanka Chopra Jonas is taking a stand for herself!
As everyone by now knows that Rosie O’Donnell had an ‘awkward’ lunch encounter with global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas and her husband singer and actor Nick Jonas at Nobu, Malibu where she thought of Priyanka as the daughter of self-help guru Deepak Chopra.
Rosie O’Donnell recalled the incident on her TikTok video and shared, "Seated next to us at Malibu at Nobu was Nick Jonas and his wife, 'someone' Chopra, which I always assumed was Deepak Chopra’s daughter. So when I said, 'Hi Nick Jonas, you were great in Kingdom,' and 'Hi I know your dad,' she goes, 'You do? Who's my dad?' I’m like 'Deepak.' She's like 'no, and Chopra is a common name.'” Rosie shared that she was embarrassed by the interaction and apologized to the couple but she referred to Priyanka as ‘Chopra Wife’.
Rosie later shared another video where she admitted that due to the comments on her video she has managed to know that she is not the only one who thought that Priyanka was Deepak Chopra’s daughter and she also stated, “People thought that she was rude. She wasn’t rude. It was just awkward. I’m sure she gets sick of that. I’m sure I’m not the only one. According to the comments, a lot of people thought that, too, but she’s apparently a very well-known actress and more famous than him, people were saying. So I’m sure it felt weird to her, to begin with. Anyway, Priyanka is her name. Priyanka. I hope I’m pronouncing that right. I just want to apologize to her and to everyone who thought that it was really inappropriate of me. Sorry, sometimes I f–k up. I did at Nobu.”
Now, Priyanka Chopra Jonas has taken to her social media to state her side of the story as she wrote, "I have never taken myself so seriously to think everyone would know who I am, or my work for that matter. But if you wanted to make a public apology for a very awkward private encounter, I think probably best to take the time to Google my name before doing it or even try to reach out directly. We ALL deserve to be respected for our unique individuality and not be referred to as 'someone' or 'wife' especially in a sincere apology. If we can learn to respect our differences in an authentic way, the world we raise our children in, will be amazing." Priyanka Chopra lastly added, “PS – As I’ve said before, not all Chopra’s [sic] are related to the great Deepak, just as not all Smith’s [sic] are related to the legendary Will Smith.”

Priyanka’s reply is no surprise to anyone as the comments on Rosie O’Donnell’s video on social media clearly states that the audience was not happy with the way she ‘apologized’ and referred to her as ‘Chopra wife’ when she is one of the biggest stars in both Bollywood and Hollywood along with being former Miss World.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas is one of the popular celebrities who with her hard work and dedication has managed to make a space for herself and people of color in the west along with being one of the inspirations for the people back in India. Priyanka and Nick recently announced that they have welcomed a baby girl via surrogacy and are over-joyed with happiness.

She shared a video of people taking refuge in subways in Ukraine and she wrote, "The situation unfolding in Ukraine is terrifying. Innocent people live in fear for their lives and the lives of their loved ones while trying to navigate the uncertainty of the immediate future. It’s difficult to comprehend how in the modern world this could escalate to such a catastrophic point, but this is a consequential moment that will reverberate around the world.
