Priyanka Chopra recently created a buzz on the internet by dropping down her last name. The actress went on to delete her last name Chopra and the last name of her husband, Nick Jonas, from her Instagram account in a bold move in the past week. Needless to say, fans collectively lost their minds trying to figure out why the actress decided to go just by Priyanka and chose to give up on her last name.
The rumors quickly took flight, with several users wondering if the famous Jonas couple is on the edge of a split and if Priyanka was deciding to leave her husband of three years. However, it only took a few moments for the celebrity couple to do quick work of all the internet 'insiders' of the family as they laid the rumors to rest and declared that they are both going stronger than ever!
Priyanka Chopra followed the bold move of deleting the last name of her husband by posting a lovely appreciation post for her boo. The Thanksgiving special post featured what the 'Baywatch' actress is grateful for, and the post had a special mention of Nick Jonas.
The Instagram photo was captioned, "So much to be grateful for. Friends, family... I love you, Nick Jonas. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating." The heartfelt move by Priyanka was soon copied by Nick Jonas as he too posted the same picture on his Instagram account with his own special mention for the things that he will take out to be grateful for during Thanksgiving. His post read: "Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Grateful for you."
Though Priyanka has not directly addressed the rumors ( also that she does not need to pay attention to each and every rumor flying around ), her mother, Madhu Chopra, quickly put the rumors to rest. Talking with News18, Madhu said, "It's all rubbish. Don't spread rumors." when asked if her daughter and her singer-husband are going to split up.
Apart from Instagram, Priyanka now also goes by just her first name on Twitter too. Keeping the rumors aside, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have managed to stay very strong and appreciative of each other during the three years of their marriage until now. Known in the industry for their love and support for each other, the two are model couples many aspire to be like.
The actress is quite active on both of her social media accounts on Instagram and Twitter and earlier shared a short clip from her debut on the Jonas Brothers Family Roast. She posted the video along with the caption "Perks of being a Jonas" and that in itself is a pretty sturdy reply to all the speculations about her relationship status.
She is now using the platform to promote her new film project, The Matrix Resurrections, which is to star Keanu Reeves along with the 'Dostana' actress. The actress also recently dropped an adorable comment on her husband's post where he was seen performing a set of bicep curls. The 'Sucker' singer captioned the post, "Monday motivation. Let's get it," where Priyanka commented on the post, "Damn! I just died in your arms."
Still, the proof was not satisfactory enough for some trolls, and many went to compare the actress with Indian actress Samantha, who shared her split from her husband Naga Chaitanya after she had dropped his last name, Akkineni, from her social media handles. While so many fans mean well, it is totally horrifying to see some people go such extreme lengths to poke their noses into someone else's business.
The Jonases, Priyanka Chopra, and Nick Jonas had got married in 2018 and this year celebrated the Indian festival of lights at their new residence. The "Exotic" singer shared some cute pictures from the celebratory night, captioned, “Our first Diwali in our first home together. This one will always be special. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this evening so special. You’re my angels. To everyone who honored our home and my culture by not only dressing the part but dancing the night away, you made me feel like I was back home. The adorable couple had first met each other at the star-studded glam fashion event, Met Gala, in 2017. Both the stars had chosen to wear Ralph Lauren for the night, and soon what followed was a whirlwind romance at best. Just in a few months, Nick Jonas popped the question to Priyanka as he presented her with a ring which he selected after shutting down the entire Tiffany's store in New York to make his pick! He got on his knee on Priyanka's birthday in London and soon got married in India in 2018 in a grand palace called Umaid Bhawan.
Now Priyanka is busy with her series Citadel, a production project from India, Italy, and Mexico, which is to star celebs like Richard Madden and is to be directed by the Russo Brothers. The series will be available on Amazon Prime and is Priyanka's second work for the streamer. Previously she had worked on Sangeet Project, a musical dance reality TV series that she will be hosting with her husband Nick Jonas. The actress has worked in The White Tiger for Netflix, which is based on Aravind Adiga's novel.
