After looking from the viewer's perspective, the climax of Lucifer is not as fulfilling as it should be. They accepted a happy ending for Lucifer and Chloe after redeeming the precious life of their girl Brianna Hilderbrand as Rory.

Lucifer was always destined to be a leader of hell who pardons sinners, assists them in settling their bad deeds, and transfers the sinner to Paradise. Tom Ellis, as Lucifer, eagerly wanted to become a leader of hell despite knowing that he would heavy-heartedly neglect Rory's younger days and her future mortal life. Meanwhile, Rory is impacted too much by all the life events that she had undergone earlier. She is finding the answer to why her Father departed. After Rory pleads, the demon approves to go underneath and informs Lucifer that she doesn't want any modifications and will reunite again with them.

In the climax minutes of the show, Chole is spending her time on land with her beloved girls Scarlett Estevez as Trixie and Rory. As Chloe's hair turns grey and life-ending before Rory, they reach Dr. Linda's counseling room, where he cures patients suffering in hell.

According to Ellis and German, the disrupting climax in the series was much needed. Ellis commented, they did want a happy ending where everything seemed to get alright. That's because the series' storyline is different from any other show.

The bittersweet end expresses the originality of the plot. Lucifer needed to make sacrifices at last. Chloe was aware of the life after death and Lucifer's immortality.

Further sequels can be made on the plot, where Chloe can meet Lucifer in the afterlife. So, this possibility has lightened up the hope of viewers that Lucifer and Chloe are happy ever after can still happen.

Also, it was the correct time for the series to end. But again, according to the makers, the cast can come again with something new. Let's see what it holds!
