Rachel Zegler receives her invite to the 94th Academy Awards!
Actress Rachel Zegler revealed in the comment section of her post that even though her recent movie, "West Side Story," is nominated in no fewer than seven categories, including Best Picture at the Academy Awards 2022, she had not been invited to attend the ceremony. One fan commented on her picture that she cannot wait to see what she wears on Oscar night, to which Rachel replied that she is not invited, hence the sweatpants and her boyfriend’s flannel are going to be her look for the night.
After the fans were quick to comment and express their disappointment at the actress not being invited to the Oscars, she took to her social media to thank everyone for their support and love. She also mentioned that she is going to support and root for the movie from her couch and be proud of the work she did three years ago. Rachel added that she wishes that some miracle could happen and she would be able to attend the movie in person, but it's okay. She added that she is disappointed but she is very proud of the movie.
But now, according to sources, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has tried to undo their mistake and invited the star of West Side Story to present an award at the ceremony. The actress who is currently shooting for Disney’s live-action movie "Snow White" in London has asked the production house to rearrange the shooting schedule so that she can attend the ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.
Rachel Zegler’s debut movie, in which she played Maria Vasquez, was highly appreciated for her portrayal. She won the best actress award at the National Board of Review and became the second Latina actress to win the award and the youngest. Rachel won a Golden Globe for the lead actress in a comedy or musical award as well. After the announcement and reports, the actress took to her social media to announce that she will be attending the Academy Awards after all and celebrate her movie in person with the cast.

The young actress also went ahead to say that she is grateful that she has been invited and thanked whoever made it possible for her to attend the awards. According to various sources, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences does not exactly distribute the tickets for the ceremony directly, but it is the film studios that allocate the tickets for the ceremony. Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes, and Regina Hall are all set to take over the stage on Sunday and serve as the host of the evening.
