The 75th British Academy Film Awards, or BAFTAs, are all set to be hosted on March 13th, 2022, at the Royal Albert Hall in London, where the British Academy of Film and Television is going to honor the best national and international movies of 2021.

Rebel Wilson is all set to host the ceremony again this year, and she shared her excitement with the Hollywood Reporter about hosting the show. She shared that she gets a little nervous while doing live appearances and that hosting a show where the entire industry is going to be is nerve-wracking for her. She added that as a host, you cannot hide behind the characters you play, so that’s terrifying to her.

Rebel Wilson also shared that she feels honored to be hosting the ceremony and is the second non-British person to host the show. She explained that she is Australian and has a British heritage, so when the British Academy of Film and Television approached her for the opportunity to host the show, she was so honored. She added that maybe because she is an outsider, she could say things that an insider might avoid.

Talking about her preparation, Rebel Wilson shared that she is watching a lot of BBC News as that’s part of her hosting duties apart from watching movies, and she is assured that everyone will be working until the night before the ceremony to get their material right. She also added that if there is a joke in her head about the royals, she might say it, but clarified that she respects the queen and the royals.

Rebel Wilson also spoke about how she quipped about the fact that she was not funny anymore as she was no longer "fat" when she was announced as the host, to which she clarified that when you’re a comedian, you tend to use your physical appearance in your jokes. She revealed that a lot of people asked her if she was scared that she wouldn’t be funny anymore because she had lost weight and she shared that she wanted to acknowledge that.

Rebel revealed that her upcoming project, "Senior Year," is her best comedy yet, and she shot it after her transformation. She is excited for the audience to see it, but the BAFTAs will be her first public appearance in front of a live audience in terms of comedy since her transformation. The actress also mentioned that since her body transformation, she has been receiving different sorts of roles, which is great for her.

The actress mentioned the British drama "The Almond and the Seahorse", and shared that she does not think the makers would have cast her if she was big, as people tend to stereotype fat people as bigger and the roles for such people are really less or maybe just not written with layers.

Rebel Wilson seemed excited to host the show and said she was looking forward to having a great time at the ceremony and having the people in the audience have a great time as well. She added in an interview that it’s a part of tradition for the host to make jokes about the successful people sitting in the audience, so she hopes no one will mind hers.
