With Marvel Studios The Eternals, just a couple of weeks away from introducing the fans to ten new superhero characters such as Salma Hayek's character Ajak, Angelina Jolie's character Thena, Brian Tyree Henry's character Phastos, Richard Madden's character Ikaris, Gemma Chan's character Sersi, Lauren Ridloff's character Makkari, Lia McHugh's character Sprite, Kumail Nanjiani's character Kingo, Barry Keoghan's character Druig, Don Lee's character Gilgamesh, Kit Harrington's character Dane Whitman, the film stars are busy in promoting it, recently, the 35-year-old Richard Madden spoke to Screen Rant about his reunion with The Eternals co-star Kit Harington in Game of Thrones.
Madden said that him, Kit, and Gemma Chan while working on The Eternals never felt pressurized or anything like that as they have been "friends for so long."
"...I think we kind of forgot. Me and Kit have been friends for so long, and Gemma [Chan] too. We've gone out and had dinner as well when we were shooting, so suddenly the three of us were kind of standing on the street chatting and it's like, "Oh God, we're at work! We're not actually just the three of us being friends here. That's what kind of was a bit throwing us off, rather than any Game of Thrones version of things. It's just that I was there with my friends at work," Madden said.
Previously, the actor discussed with Wonderland Magazine his time while working on the project in the MCU. "It's hard to get that lightness but that's what's so important, to get these lighter moments when we can. I'd love to do some more comedies. I do feel like I end up playing a lot of serious things," the actor observed. "I think it's not representative of me but you get affected with what you do, what you spend all your day doing, so that's why I'd love to do something lighter so my day is affected with lighter things rather than the end of the world stuff."
The blockbuster superhero epic The Eternals is directed by Nomadland director Chloe Zhao and it is based on a race of immortal beings known as The Eternals, who appear in the Marvel Comics. Patrick Burleigh, Ryan Firpo, and Kaz Firpo are the ones responsible for the screenplay of the film with the story written by Ryan Firpo and Kaz Firpo.
The story of the film is going to revolve around Eternals and How they have been living secretly on the planet Earth for thousands of years.
In addition to his Richard Madden, The Eternals features Kumail Nanjian in the role of Kingo, Salma Hayek in the role of Ajak, Angelina Jolie in the role of Thena, Brian Tyree Henry in the role of Phastos, Richard Madden in the role of Ikaris, Gemma Chan in the role of Sersi, Lauren Ridloff in the role of Makkari, Lia McHugh in the role of Sprite, Barry Keoghan in the role of Druig, Don Lee in the role of Gilgamesh, Kit Harington in the role of Dane Whitman with additional actors including Harish Patel, Haaz Steiman as Phastos' husband, Ozer Ercan as a smuggler and Zain Al Rafeea in an unknown role.
