A new report has suggested, "Robert Pattinson picked up $3 million for his turn in The Batman, a grittier take on the comic book icon." Pattinson happens to be the seventh actor to play the live-action Batman and is currently the 17th most paid actor in Hollywood, right after Chris Pine.

In a recent interview, Pattinson stated, "Warner Bros Pictures and HBO have always been synonymous with groundbreaking filmmaking. I'm thrilled to be working with them to discover the most exciting new voices in film and television and help bring their visions to life. I've loved working with the studio over the years and have so much respect for their dedication, their willingness to take chances and their desire to push the envelope creatively."

When the film was signed off, in an interview to the New York Times, the actor had stated: "I love the director, Matt Reeves, and it's a dope character."

"His morality is a little bit off. He's not the golden boy, unlike almost every other comic-book character," Pattinson said. "There is a simplicity to his worldview, but where it sits is strange, which allows you to have more scope with the character."

"I just fear that when I say anything about 'Batman,' people online are like, 'What does this mean?' And I don't know!" he continued. "I used to be very good at censoring myself, but I've said so many ridiculous things over the years, so I'm always curious when I'm promoting these movies how many times I can mess up. It feels like with every movie that comes out, there's always one quote from me where it's like, 'How? What kind of out-of-body experience produced that screaming nonsense?"

Pattinson continued, "Maybe I'm just used to abuse by now. At least I didn't get death threats this time — that's a plus! It's funny that people are so very angry about "Twilight." I never particularly understood it."

The Batman is said to be taking place in the DCs multiverse, Earth-2. The upcoming movie of the series, The Flash, will venture and explain the multiverse concept in DC World. There is also a lineup of a series that will feature the police of Gotham City and will stream on HBO MAX.  This movie is a mixed version of Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck's versions of Batman.

The filming of this movie was wrapped in March 2021, in what Director Matt Reeves stated were significant delays in the post-production. The film is now set to release on March 4, 2022.
