Selena Gomez shares about Emmys 2022.

During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Selena Gomez opened up about the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, where she suffered from a wardrobe malfunction.

Selena Gomez shared with host Kelly Clarkson that a lot of people saw something they did not want to see, adding that her white Celine halter dress was riding up the entire time. She had appeared on stage with her Only Murders in the Building co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short to present the Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Talk Series.

Kelly Clarkson assured Selena Gomez that regardless of the wardrobe malfunction, the actress-singer looked radiant and confident while presenting the award. She had appeared on the show to promote her recently released documentary, "My Mind and Me," which is now streaming on Apple TV+, and mentioned that she was scared to be so open, adding that making the documentary was not easy.

Selena Gomez explained that a lot of people are going to see a whole other side of her and she hopes they will like it. The singer added that she can connect with people that have been on a similar journey and mentioned that anything she does, she wants it to be some sort of light in the world and she is excited for people to watch how much her efforts have paid off.

Kelly replied that she thinks it’s refreshing and nice because it’s such a filtered world that everyone’s living in. The host said that they belong to different generations, so she feels that for people Selena’s age and younger, it’s a different world where everyone filters everything online, and that is not real life.

During an interview in January, Selena Gomez shared about making her way into the spotlight and navigating her life, saying that she loved growing up but adding that when she was younger, she was scared of it and thought her life now would look different. But now, she said, the life she has right now is not what she had expected and she couldn’t be more thrilled about it, stating that she has stopped caring about what people have to say about her.

Mandy Teefey, Selena Gomez’s mother, spoke to E! News at the Paw Works Animal Rescue event and shared that they haven’t watched the documentary yet. She explained that it’s something that she feels because she did a little interview in it, and she does not want to do a lot. Mandy also mentioned that reliving those moments put her in a headspace that she does not want to revisit after she has grown through so much. However, she noted that what she's seen so far is beautiful, adding that when the time comes and she feels like she is ready to watch it, she will. Talking about her daughter, she said she has seen Selena Gomez grow into an amazing young woman who is grounded in what she does.

Selena Gomez’s best friend and singer Taylor Swift recently took to her social media to cheer up for Selena Gomez and appreciate the documentary, as she wrote that she is very proud of her and added that she loves her forever. Selena Gomez shared in her interview with Rolling Stones that Taylor Swift is the only friend she has in the industry, explaining that she never fit in with a cool group of girls who were celebrities, but she got along well with Taylor.

Selena added that she felt the presence of everyone around her living full lives and that she was in a position where she was really happy, but she did question herself: was she happy? Do the materialistic things make her happy? She said she just didn’t like who she was because she didn’t know who she was.

On her appearance at SiriusXM on Thursday, Nov. 3, Selena Gomez stated that the most influential artist, for her, is kind of Taylor Swift, not because she’s her friend but because she has been an artist that can transition into so many different genres and she can do it seamlessly. And Selena said that she admires that so much, and that’s so rare, adding that she loves her process and just admires all the work that she’s done. She’s inspired her.

My Mind & Me is streaming on Apple TV +.
