Selena Gomez talks about her biggest mistake.

Selena Gomez recently revealed her biggest mistake on the Wizards of Waverly Pod podcast, hosted by David DeLuise and Jennifer Stone.

Selena Gomez, who got to play Alex Russo on the show, was questioned about her greatest mistake, and she said it was not continuing to communicate with the cast after the show ended. She clarified that she progressively became embarrassed of her choice and didn't want the former members of the cast to see her in that state since they'd have tried to tell her the truth, which frightened her, and she didn't want to let them down.

David DeLuise, who played Jerry Russo, Selena Gomez's Alex Russo's father, stated that it was extremely sweet of her and praised her, adding that they did miss her and are all very pleased that she is doing well. Jennifer Stone, who played Harper Finkle, Selena Gomez's and Alex Russo's best friend, praised the actress' motion but publicly acknowledged that she's not entirely to blame, recognizing that she felt partly responsible for the distance.

Jennifer Stone stated that, while she admires Selena Gomez saying such nice things, she has had instances when she wondered, "Did they stop being friends since she failed to tell Selena Gomez what she wanted to hear?" She did, however, say that she praised the singer's candor about how she felt. Selena Gomez continued by expressing how much she genuinely loves Jennifer and David, and how extremely thankful she is to both of them for acknowledging her, noting that she loves them in a way she has never loved anyone else.

Selena Gomez confirmed during the episode that appearing on the show had made her the truly happy she had ever been. The Only Murders in the Building star said she really can not start telling you without crying that she felt that she was the happiest she ever was in her life while filming the show, adding that she doesn't want that to be a depressing thought since she's grateful and happy, but it was the happiest days for her. Selena Gomez stated that she realized this because she now receives different attention than she previously did. It was a pure time.

The actress went on to say that she had no idea she would end up with everybody she needed in her life. Selena mentioned that she felt very safe, which can be a difficult feeling that she can have. She discussed that she understands they love her for what she does and that those guys adored her, which was everything she could have asked for—the unwavering trust and bond we got to share. Selena expressed her yearning for it.

Selena suggested about her time on Wizards that she feels incredibly lucky and grateful to be a part of all these other works, but she always tells the people that she has never had that emotion with the entire Wizards crew, not just the cast members. The actress added that she felt more at ease with this character compared to every other noting that it was brilliant and she remembers testing and being extremely positive about it.

During the episode, Selena Gomez recalled that she was going through a breakup and she had to film a scene where her character Alex was supposed to weep over Mason played by Gregg Sulkin, Selena said that she just let herself be sad. She continued that she considered it so lovely to have Maria Canals-Barrera who played Alex Russo's mother on the show; there, and just feeling close to her meant so much to her

Selena shared with David and Jennifer that she has a nine-year-old sister and she loves the show adding that even before she was born when Selena was alone, she would put on an episode and fall asleep to it." It was fantastic. The actress continued that she is not sure why her little sister is always mad at her character noting that maybe she likes David Henrie's character Justin Russo who was Alex Russo's elder brother. In the years since the show ended, Selena has reunited with cast members David Henrie and Jennifer. During a visit to New York City last year, the "Come and Get It" singer returned to Waverly Place.

Selena Gomez told Vanity Fair earlier this month that being a Disney Channel star came with its share of trauma, confessing that sometimes she gets triggered, not because she is embarrassed by her past, but because she has continued to work so hard to find her way so she doesn't want to be who she was previously but she wants to be who she is now.
