Selena Gomez talks about the documentary "My Mind and Me."

Actress-singer Selena Gomez recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight’s Cassie DiLaura at the premiere of her documentary "My Mind and Me," which will stream on Apple TV+ on November 4, and explained how it affected her body.

Selena said strangely, she felt that it was a time machine of things, a timeframe of her life where she glanced back and felt terrible for that version of herself, adding that she feels it was useful for her to observe how she was reacting to her body, the way she was trying to act, and how irrational she was at times.

The actress said that it was healing for her to see that and let it all out. The documentary "My Mind and Me" features Selena Gomez’s recent conversations, confessions, and candid moments as well as behind-the-scenes footage from her personal life. It will also include the singer's mental and physical highs and lows. The 30-year-old superstar has never shied away from discussing her mind and body, from revealing her bipolar disorder and lupus diagnoses to launching her own online mental wellness platform, Wondermind.

Selena Gomez was asked what she would tell her younger self, who was struggling to balance her career, personal life, and health, and she said that she would ask herself not to be afraid. She went on to say that she would tell herself not to be afraid and that she was never afraid to inform others that she needed some time to herself and that she rarely thought it was a bad thing. So, to be honest, she thinks that it's simply who she is to say, "Hey, I'm taking a rest because I need it."

Even though she hasn't released new music in years, Selena Gomez tells ET that she wants to write songs about some of her most personal experiences. The singer stated that her ideal goal is to be able to write these stories that are occurring in her life right now, because it has been years since she released music, and she cannot wait to share them through music.

Selena shares intimate details about her health battles throughout My Mind & Me, including her 2016 stay at a mental ward and the catastrophic way her mother, Mandy Teefey, discovered she was undergoing help. In one heartbreaking admission, she begins to wonder if she'll ever be "good enough" on her own, or if she'll always be intimately connected to her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. My Mind & Me is ultimately the story of a young woman wanting to learn to acknowledge, accept, and love herself.

Selena claims that she discovered that developing a connection with her bipolar disorder and oneself was inevitable, and she is now simply treating it as a friend. She went on to say that she believes she had to go through that to become who she is now, and that she will continue to go through it, but she is very happy.

Selena admitted that she is at peace, angry, sad, competent, and full of doubt, but that she is still a work in progress, that she is enough, and that she is Selena. To be honest, the singer did not want to go to a mental hospital, but she also did not want to be trapped in her mind and believe that her life was over. Selena stated that she believes this is how she will always be. Selena said while reflecting on her 2019 footage that she is in a better place, but she doesn't know, and that she guesses sometimes that she can't explain it for sure and that she had to continue learning about it, and that she must take it day by day.

During the interview, she was also asked about the viral picture of Hailey Bieber at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles, to which she said that it’s not a big deal and it’s not even a thing. At the time, a source shared that both Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber were cordial with each other at the gala and just wanted to remain friendly. The insider also mentioned that the trio of Justin Bieber, Hailey Bieber, and Selena Gomez are glad to have cleared the air, moved on with their lives and closed that chapter.

Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me begins streaming on Nov. 4 on Apple TV+.
