Selena Gomez’s mother, Mandy Teefey, is finally opening up about her health conditions on social media after receiving negative comments about her appearance after the pictures of her on the cover of Entrepreneur magazine were posted.

Mandy Teefey posted alongside daughters Selena Gomez and Daniella Pierson for the cover of Entrepreneur magazine, and after the pictures were posted online, Mandy shared that she received a direct message from an unknown user selling her a weight loss program.

Selena Gomez’s mother posted the picture of the direct message with a caption saying, "I wasn’t ever going to discuss this, but I knew when the Entrepreneur cover came out, comments on my weight were going to be DM’d to me. I just posted a polite offer instead of the name-calling. But, I was out of the hospital for maybe 3 1/2 weeks from double pneumonia. I was told I had days to live. I had miracle Drsand love from my family and friends to keep me going. I fought. The doctors fought, and I was one of the few who made it out. I gained 60lbs plus inflammation from the infection. I never gave up on myself or Wondermind coming to reality. I had zero business to be at a photoshoot. So, yesterday was a beautiful day for many reasons filled with personal attacks. I’m healthy and I will work on myself at my pace. It’s a miracle I am here and could careless if that means I’m a 16 instead of an 8. Much love to everyone. Let’s Wondermind!!! XO picture one was two days to live, picture two the day I was released."

Mandy Teefey told Entrepreneur about their new venture, "We wanted to create something outside the box that gets into the dirt of what could really help people." The company is set to launch in 2022 and will put out content for the public through podcasts, interviews, resources, and articles full of useful tips for individuals. The products that will be put out are the ones that have helped an individual in their mental health journey.

Sharing about her own mental health journey with Entrepreneur, Mandy Teefey, shared that she grew up in a rough part of Texas and got pregnant in high school. She added, "There were a lot of gangs, a lot of violence. I lost a lot of friends, was exposed to drugs, and yeah. If I was the same person I was 20 years ago, I’d probably be in jail because that was my path."

Mandy Teefey had the baby and still managed to graduate, but had to slide the dream of her college under the carpet and start to take care of the child. Slowly, she found her passion in storytelling, acting, and interning for a film festival. Mandy mentioned that she stumbled upon author Jay Asher’s book, ’13 Reasons Why, and she instantly knew that she wanted to make something about it and it took both Mandy and Selena eight years to make that dream come true.

During the show's run, Mandy Teefey’s own mental health started to catch up with her, and she checked into a facility and found out that she had been misdiagnosed as bipolar. Mandy’s struggles were deep-rooted from childhood trauma that triggered and she was later diagnosed with ADHD. She started to take care of herself and shared, "One of my favorite tricks I learned is if you’re very angry at someone and can’t let it go, blow up a balloon, draw their face on it, and pop it — sometimes you have to do it a couple of times. But let me tell you, that works. "
