Seth Aaron Rogen, typically called Seth Rogen is a Canadian actor and comedian renowned for his works in movies and TV shows like Superbad (2007), This Is The End (2013), Neighbors (2014), Pineapple Express (2008), Knocked Up (2007), The Interview (2014), Long Shot (2019), An American Pickle (2020), The Green Hornet (2011), The Night Before (2015), Freaks And Geeks (1999 – 2000), The Boys (since 2019), Preacher (2016 – 2019), The league (2009 – 2015), The 40 Year Old Virgin (2005) and many others.

He began as a stand-up comedian in Vancouver from where he moved to Las Angelas for playing his part in the series named ‘Freaks And Geeks’ (1999 – 2000) y Judd Apatow who then got a role in another sitcom that hired him as a writer too. His career marks his credentials as not only an actor, but also a stand-up comedian, writer and a filmmaker.

Recently this actor cum filmmaker is much in the news as he jokingly complained about the non-adherence to the COVID protocols at the most renowned award shows, namely The Emmys. Seth Rogen wasn’t happy at the carefree environment showcased at the Emmys.

The actor made the night’s first award presentation and jokingly remarked whether or not the event conformed to its COVID protocols and lived up to its made promises. He spoke up these words before presenting the award to star Hannah Waddingham for ‘the best supporting actress in a comedy series.’

He tried to cast some jokes during his time on the stage, but the comedian didn’t realize that his jokes triggered the show even more than laugh as it sounded more like a complaint fire. He said that the show lied to them about its setting which was claimed to be held outdoors but they actually made the gathering in a “hermetically sealed” space (which he remarked as a “tent” in his words). He molded the words of the event’s organizers who described it as a “fully air-conditioned tent that will make arrangements for the socially-distanced seating of the audience”.

But, still Rogen wasn’t satisfied and showed his concern about guest spacing by remarking that the room was too little to incorporate so much crowd. These concerns were just beginning and an indication of something big, I mean his biggest concern which was yet to come!

The last complaint that Rogen saved was regarding the tent’s ceiling. He sarcastically pulled the leg of the organizers showing his dislike for the show’s decorative structure by saying that having three chandeliers hanging over the tent’s roof is more important tonight than the life of Eugene Levy!

Seth Rogen marked his words and left, but the show didn’t take his words to affect the mental piece of its audience present, and surprisingly, it responded to the jokes of Rogen immediately post when he cracked. The hosts at the Emmys, the Entertainer Cedric and the DJ Reggie watts, came up with quick and witty pushback. Before going on to the break, Cedric remarked that they’ll party and enjoy despite hearing what Seth had said but after making his audience assured about the health and safety guidelines ensured by the show. He sarcastically regards Rogen in his words without taking his name by mentioning him as one of the smart people who guided them and asked them to keep up safe from COVID.

Let me give you a brief introduction about him.

Cedric Antonio Kyles, typically known by his stage name Cedric the Entertainer is an American actor and stand-up comedian, hosted the Primetime Emmy Awards for the first time. He is known for his works in varied movies and TV shows like The Neighborhood (since 2018), Barbershop (2002), The Original Kings Of Comedy (2000), Johnson Family Vacation (2004), Madagascar (2005), Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins (2008), Code Namer: The Cleaner (2007), The Soul Man (2012 – 2016) and many others. He is also a game show host who hosted BET’s Comic View in 1993-1994 season and the 1995’s Def comedy Jam.

These words weren’t enough for Cedric, his entertaining spirit wanted to speak more in this regard so much so that he expressed his emotions by way of his opening monologue:

"It actually feels amazing in here unlike what Seth (Rogen) was talking about. It feels good. We’re all vaxxed. We had to get vaxxed to come here. I got vaxxed. I did not have a reaction like Nicki Minaj's cousin's friend. I got Pfizer because I’m bougie. Pfizer is the Neiman Marcus of vaccines. Moderna, that’s Macy’s. Johnson & Johnson, that’s TJ Maxx," he said, as reported by USA Today.

The Los Angeles County, where the award function took place as a mandatory norm to wear masks for all public gatherings held indoors irrespective of the vaccination status of the attendees. But in their recent claim to the USA Today, the Public Health Department of the County said that necessary exceptions are made for film, movie as well as movie productions for the same protocol.

The Public Health Department excused the exceptions but they added additional precautions and mandates for the award show – Emmys, which included two things in particular and are mentioned as follows:

1.       All attendees of the event are required to test negative for the COVID-19 and that too 48 hours prior to the show.

2.       All crew members are required to be either fully vaccinated or they need to undergo the twice-weekly COVID-19 testing.

Hopefully, all operations in the event took place by following the mandatory guidelines and taking proper care of hygiene and safety. At last, I want to convey the importance of adhering to guidelines while the impact of the Corona pandemic was highly visible. It is good to enjoy public gatherings but take care of sanitation.
