Marvel Studios Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings has become the highest-grossing film at the pandemic box office. The total box office earning of the film now stands at a whopping $196 million, including the record-breaking Labor Day box office weekend opening.

The Asian Superhero film, on its opening weekend at the United States and Canada box office, earned an estimated $90 million.

The opening weekend box office collection far exceeded the initial forecast and estimation by various critics and fans.

The 51-year-old director Stephen Chbosky's big-screen adaptation Dear Evan Hansen featuring Ben Platt, Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, Kaitlyn Dever, Amandla Stenberg, Nik Dodani, Danny Pino, and Colton Ryan was listed at the second place on the weekend's box office collection whereas the third spot on the list was cemented by Free Guy starring Ryan Reynolds as Guy, Jodie Comer as Millie Rusk / Molotov Girl, Joe Keery as Walter "Keys" McKeys, Lil Rel Howery as Buddy, Utkarsh Ambudkar as Mouser, Taika Waititi as Antwan, Britne Oldford as Barista, Camille Kostek as Bombshell, Matty Cardarople as Keith, Channing Tatum as Revenjamin Buttons, Mike Devine as Officer Johnny.

Free Guy earned a total of $4.14 million at the weekend pushing its total box office collection to $114.1.

Recently, Marvel Studios also announced the release date for the premiere of the film on Disney's over-the-top video streaming service. Shang-Chi and The Legend of Ten Rings will be released on 12th November 2021 on Disney+.

The announcement of the premiere date for the film was made by The Walt Disney Company itself, the announcement also comes off as the media conglomerate is trying to expand the OTT platform in Asia-Pacific markets and is preparing to celebrate the second anniversary of the Disney+.

The Chief Executive Officer of Disney, Bob Chapak also shared his excitement for the celebration of the second anniversary day of Disney+.

Chapak said, "The inaugural Disney+ Day will be a grand-scale celebration of our subscribers across the entire company." He added, “This day of appreciation brings to life our mission to entertain, inform, and inspire fans and families around the globe through the power of unparalleled storytelling, and will become an annual tentpole event to be amplified across our global businesses."

The superhero movie will be released along with many other exclusive contents such as Disney's family-friendly film Jungle Cruise, Home Sweet Home Alone, Olaf Presents, Frozen Fever, Feast and Paperman, Ciao Alberto from Pixar, Dopesick, Oscar-nominated Mickey Mouse short, Get A Horse!, A special video clip celebrating the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Disney+, a new clip from The Simpsons and much more exciting media content.

A few weeks ago, Marvel Studios also unveiled an all-new teaser of the film for especially its fans and followers. The teaser does not reveal too much information about the film but what it does is reintroduces fans to a major supervillain known as 'Mandarin'. The villain was previously seen in Marvel Cinematic Universe's Iron Man 2 released back in 2013.

Marvel Studio's latest hit Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is a superhero film based on the character named Shang-Chi from the comic book published by the name of Marvel Comics.

Shang-Chi is a fictional comic book character who continues to appear in American comic books published under the banner of Marvel Comics. The character was first seen debuting in the Special Marvel Edition #15 cover in December of 1973. The superhero was created by legendary writer Steve Englehart and artist Jim Starlin.

Shang-Chi got his own comic book in 1983. The character has several superhuman powers in the comics which includes self-duplication, weaponry-based wushu styles, use of the gùn, nunchaku, and Jian.

Shang-Chi and The Legend of Ten Rings is the 25th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and plays a major and important role in expanding the MCU to include several different kinds of powerful superheroes. The film is also the first from the franchise to feature an Asian superstar.

Filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton serves as the director with the story written by Dave Callaham and Destin Daniel Cretton and screenplay by Dave Callaham, Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Lanham.

The blockbuster action film has a diverse cast which includes Awkwafina, Asian actor Simu Liu, Fala Chen, Benedict Wong, Michelle Yeoh, Ben Kingsley, Meng'er Zhang, Florian Munteanu, and Tony Leung.

The film is centered on a storyline of a Martial-arts master known as Shang-Chi who is troubled by his painful past. As the story progresses, Shang-Chi with his superhuman-like powers faces notorious supervillains along his journey of revealing the secrets of the mysterious Ten Rings organization.

The early development stage of the superhero-based franchise film started in December 2018, with Marvel Studios hiring David Callaham to write the screenplay.

Director Destin Daniel Cretton in 2019 was selected by the Studio to direct the film. The cast and crew were later on revealed in 2019's Comic-Con panel which took place in San Diego, California. The film was originally meant to be released on last year's February before it was shifted to a new release date due to the shutting down of theatres around the world because of the Coronavirus Pandemic. The film after a long wait by the fans was finally released on September 3, 2021. The shooting for the movie took place in Australia. The film as of now is being played in the theatres.

Simu Liu is a Chinese-Canadian actor, writer, producer and stuntman mostly known around the globe for playing the role of Shang-Chi in Marvel Studios Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and in the role of Jung Kim in the award-winning CBC Television show Kim's Convenience. As of now, Liu has starred in films such as 2013's Pacific Rim in the role of Extra, 2013's Women Is Losers in the role of Gilbert, 2021's Bright: Samurai Sou in the role of Izno. The 32-year-old actor Simu Liu will next be seen in the upcoming film Arthur The King dagger.

Simu Liu has received various awards for his brilliant performance in films such which includes a Canadian Screen Award, ACTRA Award and Dora Mavor Moore Award, and many more.
