Actress Shilpa Shetty has recently moved to the Bombay High Court on grounds of defamation against certain media houses and websites. She has cited the publication of many reports against her and beau Raj Kundra that are false and defamatory and has demanded that they be taken down immediately. She has also asked for a fine of 25 crores against damages to her reputation. Raj Kundra, however, still remains in custody and the Shetty family continues to extend their full support to the couple.

The reports that have caused damage to Shilpa Shetty are all apparently linked to the pornography case investigation of Raj Kundra. Shilpa has apparently demanded an unconditional apology from all media houses that have participated in publishing this false news. She stated that there is no evidence of her foul play in this case and as such, dragging her name through all of this has both hurt her name and her reputation. She also stated that her reputation happens to be an inexplicable part of her life which is guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution of India. She said these damages have extended to family members, even parents, the elderly, and children. She also added the publication of these articles had created a veil in the eyes of followers, fans, brand endorsement companies, business associates as well as peers who can now not differentiate the truth from the fake. She also added that these damages could never be compensated by money.

Meanwhile, Kundra has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody. Mumbai police stated that the app hotshots had earned 1.17 crore from Apple downloads only. This was between the period of August 2019 and July 2020. Investigations further stated that after the app was removed from Play Store, Apple and Youtube, Kundra had created another app called Bollyfame. Mumbai police has also evidently frozen accounts worth 1.13 crores in Kundra’s name. Kundra was denied bail by a metropolitan magistrate court on Wednesday. This was under the plea from Mumbai Police that investigation is still underway and that release o Raj Kundra or co-accused Ryan Thorpe might lead to tampering of evidence.
