The skating legend Tom Hawk ties up with the water company Liquid Death to release a limited-edition skateboard that will be painted in Tony Hawk’s real blood. There will only be 100 such boards, making them very unique and highly collectible.

The paint that’ll be used in painting the deck of these exclusive skateboards will have Tony’s blood mixed in it and it will also have Birdman printed on it, a character associated with Hawk’s nickname which he got not only because of his surname but also because of his breath-taking aerial tricks. One of the greatest achievements of Tony Hawk's was when he successfully landed the exceptionally difficult trick the 900 in 1999, making him the first skater to do it.

Tony Hawk has been associated for a long with Liquid death and he feels that this collaboration is taking that connection to an all-new level, he has signed a legal contract with the company according to which has exclusive access to his merchandise and events. The price of skateboards has been kept at $500 each, a part of the profit earned from the sales will go on a non-profit organization 5 Gyres, which focuses on reducing plastics waste.

Liquid Death is famous for bizarre marketing strategies which include commercials inspired by zombies, disfigured butchered soft toys, and in their club followers can sell themselves too to buy their innovative and differently styled products.

This isn’t the first time a brand is using the blood of a celebrity for marketing, we saw Lil Nas X come up with customized Nike shoes which consisted of one drop of blood in the sole. Though the skateboards are not inspired by Lil Nas X instead the brand took inspiration from the rock band Kiss, as in 1977 all the band members donated their blood which was to be mixed in the red ink which was used to print Marvel comics.

If you are all excited and ready to buy one of these skateboards then you are out of luck as they all sold out in 20 minutes.
