The title of the upcoming superhero animation film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 has been leaked online. The leak comes from a LinkedIn profile of a CFX supervisor and according to it the sequel of Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse will be titled Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

The LinkedIn profile changed the title from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to untitled and made the account inaccessible to the public shortly after it went viral among the fans and followers on the social media platforms. The account caught with the title belonged to none other than Simon Corbaux, currently working in some of Disney's biggest projects such as the Mulan remake and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

While there is no official confirmation by the Sony studio itself, the various steps were taken by the account to hide the title and Corbaux involvement in the blockbuster animated Spider-Verse film gives some credibility to the leak.

Dave Callaham, currently working on the much-anticipated film while recently, speaking with The Hollywood Reporter shared how was involved in the film. He said, "[Lord and Miller] said, 'We have this animated Spider-Man movie we are doing.' They were still working on the first movie. They couldn’t tell me what it was going to look like. Because it’s them, I said, 'I’ll come in and see what you have. I don’t get it.' They showed me an animatic, which at the time looked like napkin drawings with temp vocals and no animation styling behind it. I could feel the heart behind it, but I couldn’t imagine how spectacular this thing could be yet."

Callahan further went on to say that he has complete faith in both the film writers Lord and Miller and they are going to do a great job on the film. "They showed me some still images of some of the art they had been working on. With them, I trust them implicitly and I believed they were going to do something special. I said, 'OK,' and they said, 'Great. Pitch us a sequel.' So I began the very strange process of working on the sequel for a year before the original came out," he added.

The 43-year-old American screenwriter Dave Callaham along with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller serves as the writer of Spiderman Into the Spider-Verse and it stars Shameik Moore as Miles Morales / Spider-Man, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker / Spider-Man, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy / Spider-Woman, Issa Rae as Jessica Drew / Spider-Woman. The film is a follow-up to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse released back in 2018.

Sony Pictures Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 is currently set to hit theaters around the world on October 7, 2022 and it is produced under the banner of Production companies Columbia Pictures, Sony Pictures Animation along Marvel Entertainment, Arad Productions, Lord Miller Productions, and Pascal Pictures.
