Yeah, you read it right.

The new season of ‘The Rookie’ witnesses the death track of one of the original cast members of the series. Without creating further excitement, let me make the big reveal.

The 4th season of the series will see the death of Jackson West (played by Titus Makin Jr.), a prominent character of the show leaving the viewers of this season disheartened. The 4th season picked up the plot from where it left the previous season.

In the Finale of season 3, both Angela Lopez (played by Alyssa Diaz) and Jackson West were kidnapped. The premiere of the new season of the show, which was launched yesterday i.e. 26th September 2021, showed a surveillance video wherein the "deceased character" was trying hard to come out of the reach of the kidnappers but eventually, he was shot on the back by one of them and pushed into the car’s trunk.

The episode shows that the video is seen by his fellow officers: Lucy Chen (played by Melisssa O’ Neil), Tim Bradford (played by Eric Winter), John Nolan (played by Nathan Fillion), and others who were shocked to see Jackson’s fate but even in their grief, they were resolute enough to continue the search for Lopez and bring her back.

Angela was a bride-to-be as well as a mom-to-be, and the Rookie officers went to greater heights to save her and the baby. This episode brings a lot of twists and turns that keep the viewers fully indulged in the show.

The first episode of the new season is written by Alexi Hawley and the same is directed by Bill Roe.

Like the viewers, the makers of the show too didn't want to give such a turn to one of the most loved characters named Jackson, but Alexi made it clear that she didn't have a choice as Titus wasn't coming back, and based on the finale of season 3, there wasn't any way to work out the story without Jackson. She marked that this decision was impactful for them too but this was the best possible way to honor the exit of such a prominent role.
